Leon Keer connects mind and soul with new master work in Utrecht

Leon Keer, one of the world's best-known artists in 3D and anamorphic street art, created a new floor painting last week at city lab RAUM in Utrecht. The work, which is no less than 150 square meters in size, showcases his latest master piece titled 'Sensibility and Sensitivity', which illustrates a heart and brain that are connected to one another. Since its completion last Saturday, the work has attracted a lot of attention from pedestrians at the Berlin Square which is located located at Leidsche Rijn. See map below for exact location. Setting his mark in his home town In recent years, Leon Keer has created a number of master works by request in a number of locations in Europe, the United States, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Russia, New Zealand, Australia and various countries in Asia. In his work, current topics emerge, such as climate change and the livability of this world. It is the first time in his career that he has created a paining in his home town Utrecht. Renowned street artist Leon Keer to create masterpiece in hometown Utrecht

Utrechters can finally admire the work of artist Leon Keer from 15 March. The world-famous street artist - who is also Utrechter himself - travels all over the world to paint walls and squares in his 'anamorphic street art' style. He has already created master works in countries including Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Australia. Until now, his work in Utrecht has never been on display for more than a few days. RAUM will change that on Sunday 15 March. Live in action soon at Leidsche Rijn Leon Keer was invited by city lab RAUM and Street Art Today to create a new painting of 150 sqaure meters at the Berlin square in Leidsche Rijn. The work will be on display for a year. On Sunday 15 March he will start on this enormous project during the free mini festival Buurtborrel x Street Art, organized by RAUM and Street Art Utrecht, among others. Visitors can then see him at work live. A 3D floor painting of 150 m2 Leon Keer (1980) is known worldwide for his skills in anamorphic street art. This technique creates the illusion that as a viewer you have a 3D instead of a 2D painting, depending on where you stand. In 2018, Keer won the Benelux Street Art Award for best artist, yet his work is unknown to many people in Utrecht, because it is nowhere to be seen in the city. What is RAUM? RAUM organizes exhibitions and events and gives shape to future city life with residents and visitors. For his painting, Leon Keer is inspired by the upcoming exhibition and program 'RAUM der Lusten' curated by the Rotterdam architecture firm ZUS and to be experienced from May 2020. ZUS proposed a living painting of landscapes, artworks and architecture on the square of RAUM, to the famous painting of Jheronimus Bosch. Extensive programming of food in the city complements the extreme spaces in the exhibition and investigates from these spaces to lead to other encounters. The Buurtborrel x Street Art is the event where Leon Keer will begin on his floor painting which takes place on Sunday 15 March from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The expectation is that his work will be finished a week later. Peter Ernst Coolen is a curator and founder of Street Art Today, an international platform for street art. Children's workshop by TMS81 (making tags and pieces) Tomas Sabatello is a Utrecht artist who is known by the name TMS81. He started with graffiti on the street in Overvecht and started to become a visual artist. More properties available for sale in Utrecht

The number of homes for sale in the municipality of Utrecht has increased by more than 50% in just one year. The growth can be attributed to the sharp increase in the erection of new properties. The largest growth was measured in the districts Leidsche Rijn, Vleuten and De Meern where more than 95% of the new homes offered are located. Despite these additions, the supply is still too limited to adhere to the demand. Less than 40 percent of the current Utrecht housing supply consists of newly-built homes. The report further states that Utrecht is the fifteenth most expensive Dutch municipality in the Netherlands and the fourth most expensive municipality nationwide considering those with inhabitants greater than 50,000. The most expensive is Amsterdam, followed by Amstelveen and Haarlem. The findings are based on the first quarterly report of 2019 published by Molenbeek Makelaars. Read the full article

Firma Kluit presenteert SPOOR

Op 22 en 23 September 2018 presenteert Firma Kluit hun voorstelling ‘Spoor’, een theatrale installatie bestaande uit 20 spiegelende kubussen in het landschap, waar je individueel je hoofd in steekt. Spoor laat iedereen vanaf 10 jaar opnieuw kijken naar alles wat je al eens zag, maar wat nu, na het zien van Spoor, er toch heel anders uit ziet. De voorstellingen vinden plaats in het Máximapark in Leidsche Rijn, naast de Nomads in Residence.
