Happy Leif Ericsson Day
On this day a quarter of a century ago, I wore a Viking costume to school, as I was teaching fifth grade and it fit in with the history component of the curriculum.
I forgot I had bus duty that day.
I scared many first and second graders, for which I was sorry.
But I enjoyed wearing faux-fur wraps on my legs and a beard and a ridiculous helmet on my head. My students enjoyed it, too.
I think it was the last good day I had as an elementary school teacher. Which is another story for another day.

I don't know how many of you watch the show Vikings but I just discovered something and I need to share it with someone. There is a Viking named Leif. His father is named Eric. Thus making him Leif Ericsson. My mind is blown.
It's Leif Ericsson's, my fishes, birthday! To celebrate I'm cleaning his tank :D
