Hiking the Leigh Lake Trail, Wyoming
August 2020
Leigh Lake, Grand Teton, October 2021 My first backcountry camping experience both in the cold and in bear country was at Grand Teton. The ranger at the backcountry desk was super nice and could tell I was a newbie. I watched a safety video and I also asked a ton of questions. She was awesome and put me at a really nice campsite on the lake with a private beach overlooking the mountains. This was definitely a great warmup to my next backcountry camping experience lol. The elevation change was only like 100 feet and it was only a 2 mile hike. I was about 0.5 mile in when I realized I forgot my Garmin inreach (GPS device) so I hiked back 0.5 miles, grabbed it, made sure I didn’t forget anything else, and then started the 2 miles again. I was def a noob since I didn’t tighten all the straps on my pack nor did I pack optimally, so this was definitely the hike to make these mistakes. But boy was this campsite beautiful and tranquil! You can see more pictures here (I’ve got commentary on the pictures/videos if you click on them) -> https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0Y5GH8MquL0ks #grandtetonnationalpark #grandtetons #leighlake #sunset #sunrise #mountains #backcountrycamping (at Leigh Lake Trail) https://www.instagram.com/p/CWNCravLCD8/?utm_medium=tumblr
Every photo tells a story! This one was a moment to be remembered. #wanderlust #grandteton #wyoming #leighlake (at Leigh Lake)
