NEW POST!! Make It: Meyer Lemon Citrus Sugar Cubes for Cocktails
I think I’ve been talking about putting these into a post for a few years now. So, sorry. Thanks for your patience. I’ll get us straight to the how-to in just a second.
First, I’m going to repeat a few pointers from my Smoked Sugar Cube post so you’ll all have it right here for reference:

Lazy Afternoon Sazerac
2oz Rye
1/2oz simple syrup
2 drops absinthe
2 dashes lemon bitters
1 dash Peychaud's bitters
This is very light and summery tasting (aka chuggable). I wish I used a sharper rye like Bulleit or EH Taylor, but this Crater Lake is great if you want something easy on the palate.
Lemon bitters.
Bourbon Sidecar with lemon bitters In this version of the classic cocktail, a smoky bourbon stands in for the Cognac while aromatic bitters give it a fantastic flavor boost!
Yuzu Martini v1 - 2 oz Bombay Sapphire "East" (infused with lemongrass and peppercorns), 1/2 oz Dry Vermouth, 1/2 oz Iichiko Yuzu liqueur, 2 dashes lemon bitters. Shaken (the yuzu liqueur is cloudy anyway) with ice and fine strained into a chilled cocktail glass. A fresh yuzu garnish will be nice for the next one. Refreshing and balanced, but could gain from a bit more complexity.
Monkey Buck (variation) - 2&1/2 oz of Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin, 1/2 oz of freshly squeezed lemon juice, 2 dashes lemon bitters, shaken with ice and strained into a chilled, ice-filled rocks glass and topped with ginger ale. Garnish with a couple of lemon twists. A dead simple yet luxurious drink. Dry and tart, it could be challenging for some. Could thus be enhanced by adding a 1/2 oz of liqueur, preferably something floral and sweet like a St-Germain or Chartreuse.
