Out next to the blossoming cherry trees, yet still around the tidal basin, in the backyard, the lemon tree blossoms are going full storm. Sourcing bespoke lemon tree nectar for the bees and the hummingbirds, we strive for quality in every batch.

A few days ago, I was in a local plant shop and they had baby Lemon trees for sale. Vancouver is not in California and lemons won’t grow outside due to our chilly weather. If I win the lottery, I’ll build a heated glass conservatory and I’m sure a Lemon tree would prosper in such a friendly environment. The alternative sees me trying to grow a tree in my bedroom. Lemon flowers have a lovely scent but I don’t think I’m up for that.

As promised, here’s a series of photos depicting the blooming of my lemon tree’s lone flower. All in all, it was over a week from bud to bloom. The petals were thick and waxy, and it had one of the most incredible scents to ever inhabit my nose cave.

An actual lemon never took form, but still... so exciting!!
