As the youngest sister to a pair of protective fruit-named twins, you were looked after well and always kept out of harm's way. They weren't too fond of their baby teenage sister following in their occupational footsteps, so they did everything they could to deter you from that kind of life.
Every other week, you and your brothers would meet up for a quaint sibling dinner at the location chosen on the spinning wheel. Today the wheel had selected Lemon's city centre flat, which meant he was hosting tonight's dinner for the third time in a row. As you were still living at home, the options were pretty limited; the only options being Lemon's flat or Tan's place. They weren't too keen on going out to dinner in a public location in case things went sideways and you got caught in the crossfire. They didn't mean to come across as controlling, they were just like that because they love you.
As your brothers were often out of town and away on missions, you didn't get to see them as much as you had hoped, but with some simple persuasion, you convinced them to book one day off every fortnight, especially for you. So to prepare for this evening's dinner, you spent the afternoon making the most-favoured dessert of choice; homemade lemon meringue pie. Usually, everyone would bring something as a way to lighten the load for the host; Tangerine tended to bring alcohol, Lemon would take some kind of cheese, and you'd make a sweet treat for after.
"When's it ready? I'm starving," you question, whine drenching your tone. "Been here like half hour, why ain't it in front of me?" you playfully provoke Lemon, discreetly winking to your other brother, who was snickering into the ball of his hand.
"Oi, watch your tone with me, mardy bum," Lemon replies, his hands adjusting his cutesy pink apron. "I'll poison yer food," his eyes widened as if to emphasise.
"Where'd yer get that apron, mate? Knick it off that granny downstairs?" Tangerine chirps in.
"Ha ha ha, you guys are so funny," Lem sarcastically replies with faux playful features. "Get fucked, the pair of ya." He turns on his heel and smacks the spoon on the back of your brother's head.
"Watch it, knobhead," Tan grunts, rubbing the sauce from his hair onto the sofa. "What a dick," nodding over to the now empty doorway. "So, what's been going on with you? What you been up to lately?"
"Nothing much," you shrug, turning your attention to the tv.
"How'd that date go? That guy in your class, what's his name again?"
"It was alright," you shrug again, avoiding your brother's hard gaze.
"He was a dick, weren't he?"
"I don't know… he didn't turn up," you awkwardly laugh. "Hey, want any help in there?" you call out, trying to avoid Tan's persistent questioning.
"You tryna distract me?"
You slide off the sofa, practically running away as you join Lemon in the kitchen. "Shut up… what's up with all these questions, man? Like a fucking gameshow,"
Tangerine chases after you, darting over to join Lemon before you could get there. "Guess what? That shit of a guy she was meant to be seeing? The little prick stitched her up." He interrupts, looking at your brother in approval.
"He did what? Why'd he do that?" Lem asks, placing the tray on the counter, his gaze darting between you both. "That why you been bitchy recently?" he jokes, earning him a firm slap on the chest. "You're right, sorry… what you want us to do? Fuck him up a bit?"
"Scare him? Threaten him?" Tangerine pipes in, arms folded as if the conversation of threats was normal.
"No, god no… just leave it, he's a dick anyway,"
"We're sorry," Lemon says softly, walking around the island to join you, tightly hugging into your side.
"Yeah, sorry… there's better ones out there," Your other brother adds, hugging your other side.
"This is so embarrassing," you mumble, cowering from their affections.
"We'll leave ya alone," Tangerine says, knowing you didn't really mean it.
Immediately wrapping your arms around your brothers, pulling them in. "No… not yet,"
omg i love the lemon and tangerine as older brothers thing
I got this idea of like,, they get ambushed when the three of them do actually hang out outside of their private residences, and lemon and tan get kinda held up by them so the younger sibling reader is like "i can't believe u guys are making me clean up for u" and pulls out their secret (kind of still in training) badass assassin moves to clear out their ambushers
and tan and lemon realize that whatever makes them so good at what they do apparently kinda runs in the family
anyways ily and your fics you're amazing and have a WONDERFUL DAY!!!! <3
hii angel, aghh thank you!! I love this idea, but I fear I may have rushed the ending, really sorry!! ily and your sweet comments, have a LOVELY day !!! <3 thank you for requesting, hope you like it💌 also really sorry it’s been so long since a tan fic!

Being the youngest sister to your pair of assassin older brothers, you were always very well looked after. Always protected and kept from harm's way. As they are skilled in their occupation, they are pretty flush with cash, so sometimes they love to treat and spoil you. At the end of every week or two, they like to take you out, do some shopping, get lunch, that kind of thing. They're pretty good brothers in that way.
Originally they were apprehensive about taking you out in public, not liking the idea of putting you in danger on the off chance an enemy would see. But you reassured them multiple times, telling them you could look after yourself, even though they practically laughed in your face.
So today, after a long morning shopping on the high street, a cold, refreshing drink was calling your name. You turn to your brothers and notice their exasperated expressions as they lug your bags around. "Fancy a quick drink?" you ask with a grin, nodding to the small pub at the end of the road. "I'm also quite hungry, actually,"
"You're taking the piss now," Tangerine sighs, checking the time on his watch.
"There's a fuckin' hill," Lemon groans, eyes closing in exhaustion.
"I'll treat you guys. It's on me?" you bribe, smiling sweetly.
"Yeah, you better," Lemon adds, now a light spring in his step. "I ain't driving, so you're getting me more than one pint,"
You all make your way up the tedious slope, walking along the cobblestone until you get to the quiet pub up ahead. Sitting at the back by the windows, facing the small river out front, you turn to look at your brothers once more, shaking the menu enthusiastically. "All that shopping has made me hungry," you stifle a snicker, purposefully winding them up.
"You're a dick. You know that?" Tangerine says with a slight huff, skimming over the alcohol side of the menu. "Need a fuckin' drink. I tell you that,"
"What they got?" Lemon asks, peering over his brother's shoulder.
"You got your own bloody one there. Why you breathing over my fuckin' neck for?"
"No..." you whisper, discreetly nodding behind them. "Don't- don't look... there's six guys- don't look. They just sat down. They keep-"
"What are they doing?" Tangerine interrupts, his brows knit in focus.
"Shush- shut up," your eyes bug at him as if to quieten him. You cautiously watch their shifty mannerisms, picking up on their behaviour. "Right, we gotta go. It looks like they want you guys," you say, barely audible, talking into the menu to hide the movement of your mouth.
"Go to the bathroom and climb out the window," Tangerine says, his eyes full of concern.
Their faces are full of worry as they glance at you, an expression you don't see often. They look at you more protectively than usual, as if they're scared to lose you, like their minds are full of all the worst possible outcomes. One of their worst nightmares are about to come true, and you can see the visible distress on their faces.
"Now, please," Lemon whispers, his tone frantic.
"Guys, I'm fine," you say assuringly, slowly sliding your hand into the handbag on your lap. "Just, shush a sec, yeah? Just trust me,"
You steadily pull your handgun from the fabric, being wary not to cause attention. You line the gun under the table, pointing the barrel towards a man, aiming towards his kneecap. "You guys loaded?"
"The fuck are you doing?" Tan squints, looking at you in bewilderment.
"I'm gonna take out the one on the far right,"
"The fuc-? What do you mean?" Tan asks, slowly sneaking his hand into his holster to retrieve his gun.
"God, shit- they're gonna get up," you whisper.
"Wait, wait, wait," Lemon gushes almost frantically. "I ain't got my gun- where's- fuck, it's in the car,"
"Knife," Tan nods to the cutlery bucket on the table. "Use that knife,"
"Can't bring a knife to a gunfight, mate,"
"That's all there sodding is, get it,"
Suddenly the men erupt from their seats, rushing over, knives and weapons in hand as they swang towards you and your brothers, hopelessly missing every time. You line your gun to the guy on the far right, shooting him in the knee, being wary of the other civilians.
Tan and Lem tackle two other guys while you take out the rest, hitting them into the table, smashing bottles around their heads, using everything you have available. This whole situation was a little out of your style. You were usually a lot cleaner than this, neater perhaps. But this, this was like some dirty bar gruel of a fight, something you'd see with cowboys in a saloon.
Within minutes, you and your brothers took out the ambushers, leaving them passed out on the floor speckled in soon-to-be bruises and blood patches.
"Where the fuck did you learn that?" Tan turns to look at you, brows furrowed.
"Must run in the family," Lemon snickers, pushing one of the guy's arms away with his foot. "We're gonna get kicked out. Bruv, pay em off,"
"Fuckin' expensive day, I'll tell ya that," he mumbles, walking over to the bar and pulling out his wallet.
"You did good," Lemon smiles sweetly, his eyes soft. His features suddenly harden. "Glad that's out your system. Are we fuck, gonna let you do that again."
