Grandma's Recipe Box
Navigation: ALPHABETICAL INDEX SOURCE INDEX Category Index (Coming Soon) Type Index (This one may be a while) What is Grandma's Recipe Box? After my grandma passed, I brought home her recipe box and scanned the entire collection so there would always be a record of it.
Originally, I planned to type everything up into a family cookbook. Like many good intentions, that project sat unfinished for a while. Rather than let these recipes stay hidden on my computer, I decided to share them here instead.
This blog began as a public archive of the recipes she collected over the years — handwritten cards, clippings, and kitchen favorites preserved as they were found.
While those scans are the foundation of this project, this space will also grow to include recipes from other generations of my family, along with recipes I’ve saved or discovered myself over time. The goal is to preserve not just one recipe box, but the broader chain of food, memory, and influence that passes from one kitchen to another.
I haven’t cooked most of these recipes yet, and many are not transcribed (at least not yet). For now, the goal is simple: preserve and share them.
My intention is to upload at least one recipe each day. Over time, I may add transcriptions, notes, or updates as I try them myself.
Think of this as a digital recipe box — opened and shared. About Rights & Attribution
These recipes and images are shared for archival and historical purposes. I do not claim ownership of the recipes, artwork, or published materials shown here unless explicitly stated.
Many items come from handwritten cards, newspapers, cookbooks, or community recipe collections gathered over the years. Whenever an author or source is listed, I include it as part of preserving the original context.
