Lemupuses were a very controversial species from Sagan 4 history, due to a combination of being part of the despised "shrew" clade and having been on a direct path to sapience, not helped by their original artwork being a tiny pixelated ms paint jpeg. But years later, now that shrews are accepted as part of Sagan 4's vast history and biodiversity and higher intelligence is no longer considered taboo, they don't really seem that bad; the main remaining issues are related to art quality, and Sagan 4 isn't exactly known for amazing artwork anyway.
For this illustration, I also decided to give them a bit of individual variation. Variation like this is also pretty underrepresented on Sagan 4, I think, outside of subspecies and sexual dimorphism. They are based on OviraptorFan's interpretation of their markings, which were informed and approved by @vo-kopen, the species' original creator.
