Lena Hasibether - Experimental yet Wearable

Lena Hasibether is the second designer to take part this weekend at Painting Fashion @ Berlin collect. She has presented her collections across Europe, and has had a history of blending fashion with art into one.
She was born in Essen, Germany, and started her label in 2009 as soon as she completed her degree from the university of applied sciences FH Bielefeld. In that year she took part in Mittelmoda, in Italy, won then Furla accessories award, and was one of the finalists at Createurope in Berlin. 2010 saw her as the winner of the “Bilbao International Art&Fashion award” in cooperation with Ute Schmiemann. She then took part in the “Jota+Ge competition Bilbao” and in “Design am Rhein” in Düsseldorf, where she won second place.
Lena’s main focus is on the creation of new things. We are talking arty and experimental, but it’s not as simple as that. Wearable is a key factor in the equation. Her imagination is translated into a functioning reality.
For every collection she brings some new elements to play with. Last year for example she mainly worked with digital prints.
Her latest collection, presented at Capsule in Paris this year, saw her combine different materials, such a cork with fabric. The colour palate remained within the earthy range, with a lot of shades inspired by spices such as curcuma.
Lena defines her work as “a mixture of free drapping and pattern making”. Come and try on her clothes, as you pose recreating art. This weekend at Painting Fashion @ Berlin Collect.
