Continuation of the tale with @lenfentisms
Night Island has become the main rescue and recovery place for their kind. After the destruction of the Queen and the horrible fate they had been through thanks to Lestat’s stupid little vendetta, they were all cramped here at this island Armand purchased for his former lover. Formerly, because Daniel’s mind had gone mad. He wouldn’t accept Armand by his side anymore, and it was Marius, Armand’s maker, who decided to take Daniel under his wing. Armand felt that there was no love anymore, and it confirmed everything he always preached: a fledgling will grow to hate their Maker. But never has Armand thought that this hatred would come to them so early on. Armand couldn't stand being around the partying crowd anymore, and if he was honest, he was slowly getting annoyed by Khayman and his countless attempts to make conversation with Armand. Leaving everyone to take a walk on the beach was the only way to get away from it all.
Armand held his hands clasped behind his back as he let his mind run wild. So many thoughts to torment him that he was almost tempted to hide himself somewhere he couldn’t be found ever again. And yet, it wasn’t loneliness he found but the company of no other but Nicolas, who didn’t perish in the fire.
Reluctantly, he accepted the invitation and sat next to his former coven member. And surprisingly, they didn’t snap at each other and managed to hold quite a civil conversation over this and that. Nothing seemed really meaningful until Nicolas mentioned that he would’ve taken Armand as a lover as some kind of revenge on Lestat. And he knew that those words were spoken with honesty. Silence had fallen over Armand for the longest time until he simply stated that they could still get revenge on Lestat. Maybe he didn't mean it, maybe he meant it. His love for Lestat was still there, but so was every other love he felt once for someone. Marius, Bianca, Louis, and especially Daniel. If Armand gives a piece of his heart away, he wouldn’t ask to get it back. And maybe he was lonely and broken right now, more than he wanted to admit. Armand wanted Daniel back, but his fledgling hated him so much. He wanted Lestat back, but they would never be more than somewhat friends.
And now he did what he shouldn’t do by leaning in further until there was no space between them anymore. Armand captured Nicolas’ lips with his own. It was a brief kiss that ended quickly as Armand tried to pull back. But it didn’t seem to satisfy Nicolas. Armand gasped inaudibly when his back touched the sand upon Nicolas crashing into him. Their lips moved against each other aggressively. The vampire’s fingers grasped onto Nicolas’ clothes as they fought for dominance with their lips and bodies alike. They rolled around in the sand, tongues wrestled for dominance, and teeth got way too involved as well. And for a while, he let Nicolas play until he rolled them over again.
Armand straddled Nicolas’ hips, and one hand came to rest next to the younger vampire’s head. “As if you care for your cardboard,” he muttered before their lips touched again. Much more aggressively than before, Armand sank his teeth into Nicolas’ bottom lip. It must be enough to be at least a bit painful. But at the same time, he’d let Nicolas change their position again if he tried. “You can play games with Lestat. But you cannot play games with me. Keep that in mind.” He narrowed his eyes as a warning. “And now show me how much you still hate him.”
