10. Best big bad?

Ooooohhhh... I love me some Mayor Wilkins but I think I actually love Dark Willow more.

Unpopular opinion, maybe, but hear me out: There was a lot of foreshadowing from seasons before that Willow was getting reckless and secretly a little vicious. She was the one we "should have seen coming" but mostly didn't because it was played off so well and balanced by the natural sweetness of the character.

The Trio were a fascinating set up to her arc because they also got increasingly dangerous as they went from dabbling to trying to gain power in earnest to turning unexpectedly deadly.

And Xander being the one to save the day was kind of a long time coming, in its own way. He is far from my fave but it was good to see the character without superpowers be able to make the biggest difference.

Overall, there are places it could have been handled more delicately but I genuinely enjoy the Dark Willow arc a lot. Also there's badass Giles being hot AF.

side note: I will never forgive Tara's death and I think the arc could have had Tara survive at the end and be just as effective.

Bahahahaaaa!  Yeah, I have no desire to start a new WIP XD.  I dunno, I just re-read Closing the Circle.  Maybe I’ll try and write the next chapter, I haven’t picked it up in a month

blinkblink I... can't believe you just watched that and are still wondering what possible reasoning is behind any character's actions. It's Deadline Syndrome, made worse by Shepherding the Characters into A Specific Ending. Who needs to keep true to characterization, or to show rather than tell, when you need the plot to advance in a direction in three episodes?

Look, I’m a round little death robot with simple needs: If you’re going to smack me with a stupid plot point, at least have the decency to handwave it, or I will assume there’s an actual plan behind it.

God bless Dorothy. I hope she takes her own medicine and asks Ruby out soon! I loved everything about this. Especially when Jefferson and Dorothy worked together to get Goldout of his funk. I definitely love that Dorothy can make Gold laugh. He needs more people like that! Wonderful chapter.

Yeah, Gold has two good friends there, and hopefully he’s gonna start listening to them :)
