Batman Resurrection was published on October 15, 2024. The book, by John Jackson Miller, took place in the Tim Burton/Michael Keaton Batman cinematic universe. The story took place between Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992). The story featured the characters from "Batman" Bruce Wayne/Batman (Michael Keaton), Alfred Pennyworth (Michael Gough), James Gordon (Pat Hingle), Harvey Dent (Billy Dee Williams), Mayor Leo Borg (Lee Wallace), Lawrence (George Lane Cooper), Alexander Knox (Robert Wuhl), Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger) and Doctor Arthur Davis (Steve Plytas) and the characters from Batman Returns Max Shreck (Christopher Walken), Chip Schreck (Andrew Bryniarski), Selina Kyle (Michelle Pfeiffer) and tattooed strong man (Rick Zumwalt). It introduced to this world Karlo Babic/Clayface, Dr Hugo Strange, Julie Madison (played by Elle McPherson in Batman & Robin 1997), Drake Winston (who appeared in Batman, Batman Returns screen writer Sam Hamm's DC Comics limited series Batman 89 and based on Marlon Waylon), Barbara Gordon, and Norman Pinkus/Riddler. The book took place 6 months after the events of the first Batman film. It focused on dealing with the aftermath of the Smylex attacks, the emergence of Clayface, and the question of if the Joker (Jack Nicholson) was really dead. The book was followed by a sequel Batman Revolution released on October 21, 2025.
