i see people complaining about lot about the scene where Leo comes out to Kate, specifically when she says “you’re a girl?!” and he responds with something along the lines of “i prefer the term natal female or biological female actually” and like...dude i don’t think he was being serious there 😭😭
a big part of Leo’s character is that he’s snarky. he talks back, he makes frustrated remarks under his breath, the whole sha-bang. his mom literally calls him out for it MULTIPLE times throughout the book. it makes sense that in such a stressful situation (i know Kate came out to him first, but coming out is still stressful even if it’s another queer person) he would say something sarcastic
