I was recently introduced to Leon Osborn, one of the more exciting electronic upcomers in the country right now. Having just signed to Perth’s Pilerats, his unique, experimental sound is eerie, intricate and completely mesmerising.

Leon Osborn is the latest Australian producer to be signed to Pilerats, and as things seem to go with production talent from Down Under, he’s brilliant on entrancing, intricate new track You Were Gone. The song, which features Barksdale, is a heady, trippy mix of hip hop and trap with a future bass styled, wobbly foundation. It’s abundant level of eccentric, experimental elements borders on psychedelic, while clattering percussion evokes the likes of Burial and Four Tet. The bewitching track is so hypnotic, it nearly induces a meditative state of mind, particular with the addition of some very Eastern toned strings.
Leon Osborn, an Australian producer, came out with an astonishing song featuring Barksdale called “You Were Gone” on @pilerats. It’s kind of the same genre as @TakuBeats.
