Never did a simple walk home feel so incredibly long.
Mishima wasn’t unhappy, don’t get him wrong he was incredibly happy he got to hang out with Akira, but he couldn’t get his mind off of the dumb feeling that kept eating away at him. The little conversations that he and Akira had helped ward off the feelings, but in those moments of silence where Mishima’s mind began to wander he found himself getting flustered and embarrassed.
He was going to spend the night with Akira watching bad horror movies. Such a thing was normal for friends to do--and they were friends--but now and again he’d think of how this whole thing could also be taken as a date in some sense. It wasn’t a date. It couldn’t be a date. nope this was just a friend thing. And each time that thought arose the boy’s heart would skip a beat or his face would heat up.
‘Stupid! Get a hold of yourself! You’re going to look like a creep!’
Mishima mentally chided himself in hopes that he’d be able to reel himself in.
Thankfully he no longer had to deal with the struggle of his thoughts. They were at his house.
“You can come in, just don’t come up to my room. It’s kinda a mess.”
He grinned sheepishly as he opened the front door, walking inside and slipping off his shoes before he darted up the stairs to his bedroom.
Msihima’s house wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. A simple two story house with simple wooden floors and a quaint feel. Stairs not too far from the entrance lead upstairs, a hallway beside it lead to the rest of the house and a few pictures, family photos and small pieces of artwork, hung from the walls in the hallway.
He was thankful his mom wasn’t home, if she was she’d probably make a fuss over Mishima bringing a friend over...and it wouldn’t be a mad sort of fuss...
