E10 - IMPLEMENTATION IN LERUM
According to common wisdom, one characteristic of human activity is to work for future rewards. A statement that is very true for planning processes. The winners of Europan 10 competition in Lerum ( Marco Pusterla (IT) and Jesús Mateo (SP)) are eventually landing their winning proposal after a six year long process.
The municipality of Lerum is developing the regulation plan for the Europan 10 site by Aspen lake. The area involved in this plan is the same as the project area in the competition and the project has now been called Aspen strand.
Since Europan 10 in 2010 Marco Pusterla and Jesús Mateo have been working with the municipality of Lerum in several assignments. The competition proposal has been developed and adapted to new conditions and several aspects and alternative options have been studied and compared to reach a final solution, but the main guidelines in this plan are basically the same as the ones in the winning proposal.
The municipality has formed a consortium with three developers (HSB, Skanska, Wallenstam) and a participative process with all citizens in Lerum has been started.
During the last few months a large working group of different specialists has assisted the architects and the municipality to analyze noise, light conditions, water levels, geology, traffic and other specific aspects. During this time the project was partially redefined and it will soon reach its final shape.
Program nowadays: 45.000 m2 housing, kindergarten 800m2, parking garage and commercial space ca. 4000 m2, landscaping.
