guys these are the pictures from my school's production of les mis! enjoy!
So our Eponine and Cossette work for the same company where they dress up as Disney characters and go to kids parties. Someone they work with came to see Les Mis, recorded the girls then posted them to youtube on the COMPANY youtube channel. Like how stupid are you? That's illegal as hell and you can get the actor in sooooo much trouble even if they didn't ask you to do it. Good christ.
I am so done with one of the mic techs-Gus. He is literally the most annoying member of the crew(besides maybe Grace and myself) and is probably one of the main reasons Risa had to come talk to me the other day. I'm considering talking to Risa about him because a) hes getting on my nerves and b)I had asked Naomi about someone talking to him a few days ago but it doesn't seem like anyone has.
So one of the ASMs(possibly someone else but it’s most likely one of them-particularly the one I’m constantly working with)told the woman whose technically the actual stage manager, she teaches the stage managing class, that I’m always on my phone, disappearing, or late for my cues. All I know for sure is that Risa, the stage managing teacher, pulled me aside when Matt and I were striking set pieces and basically asked me if that’s what’s actually is happening. I told her that there have been a few times I was on my phone(but lied a bit and said it was to text my mom and let her know I was okay) then made a point to tell her that I’ve never wandered off, and that I’m usually early for whatever I’m doing. Which is totally true. I’ve hardly ever been on my phone if we’re not on a break and I’ve never ‘disappeared into the hall’ except for when we’re on break or for the two times I had panic attacks. I mentioned it to Matt a while later and he was totally shocked. I asked the ASM I deal with most a while later, as we were finishing up, if she or somebody could talk to Gus, the mic tech that I deal with most, to back off a bit and leave me alone a bit more because he’s a main reason I get distracted-he will not stop talking to me or trying to make jokes at me.
So there was an article published in my local newspaper yesterday about Chris-the kid that plays Valjean-talking about how he's had to deal with a lot of shit because his mom is a drunk, as was his dad, and his dad passed away when he was 17. After reading the article, I feel for him a bit more than I did but I'm still kinda weary of him...he was arrested & convicted of 'unlawful sexual contact' last year.
I'm falling for one of the guys in the Les Mis cast send help. He's obnoxiously French and badass...it's adorable.
So tonight was much more hectic than last night; we went through scene six to scene eleven-so right after Fantine's death to intermission. Matt was here tonight and that helped so much. I was running around like crazy trying to do everything I needed to just on Stage Left. I've decided our Stage Left barricade/cafe wall hates me because I can't get it to move right when I'm standing near the corner trying to move it but if someone else stands there and moves it it's fine, even if I'm right on the other side of them. I'm thinking that our Fantine doesn't like me much because, although she's been sweet to me the few times I've had a polite 'Hello' with her, I noticed today she was giving me some weird looks. There was one point where we were all on a ten minute break and we both ended up in the same hallway. I was sitting in a corner totally spacing out when she started talking to the guy who plays Valjean. I wasn't really paying attention at all because, like I said, I was just totally spacing out...so I didn't realize I was staring right at them. Once I realized this, I looked away but I guess she noticed because she kinda just looked at me and dragged him to the further end of the hall. I felt pretty bad because I'm on Stage Left with her for all of act one and she kept giving me the weirdest looks.
