The Hero We Needed

(Y/N) sighed, tucking her phone back into her purse. She couldn’t believe she’d been stood up, especially after Wanda had so insisted that this date wasn’t a prank or to humiliate her.

Wanda Maximoff was one of the most well known girls at their school, incredibly popular and absolutely brilliant. So it came as a shock when Wanda had asked her out.

She shivered, and started the walk back home. She hadn’t realized quite how cold it was going to get before she left, but now she definitely wished she had brought a coat with her.

(Y/N) startled when a clattering of a trash can came from behind her. She whirled around, eyes wide and ready to run if need be. She relaxed a fraction at seeing who it was, “scarlet witch?” She exclaimed, confused, as to why she would be here.

Wanda hesitated, “uh, hey, I just, well, I noticed you seemed cold, so here,” she said, holding out her hoodie.

(Y/n) furrowed her brows, “thank you, but how am I supposed to get this back to you?” She asked, taking the coat, and slipping it around her shoulders, taking a moment to appreciate the warmth. The hoodie had a certain smell to it, though she couldn’t quite pinpoint it.

Wanda offered her a smile, “well, why don’t I walk you home? That way I can make sure you got home safe,” she offered. She glanced down at (y/n)’s hands, “your hands look awfully cold too, why don’t I help you with that too,” she said, grinning at her as she reached out and linked their fingers together lightly. “Why are you walking home alone so late anyways?”

(Y/n) threw her head back with laughter at the attempt to flirt, it felt nice especially after the night she’d had. She sighed, “I was supposed to be going out with this girl from my school tonight, Wanda, but I guess she ditched me,” she said. “It sucks, I’ve always really liked her but I think it was just a joke for her,” she muttered.

Wanda’s eyes widened, “oh well I’m sure she has her reasons for not showing up,” she exclaimed. “But are you sure that she stood you up? Maybe she thought it was on Friday?”

(Y/n) arched an eyebrow, “it is Friday.”

Wanda cursed, “are you sure?” She asked. She didn’t realize how far they had walked until (y/n) came to a stop in front of an apartment building.

(Y/n) offered her one last smile, “thanks again, you’re my hero,” she said, teasing lightly, taking off the jacket and handing it back to the other woman.

Wanda hesitated, “(y/n), wait,” she called, reaching out and grabbing her arm.

(Y/n) turned back, a slight frown crossing her face, “how do you know my name?” She asked.

Wanda sighed, “okay, don’t freak out,” she said, reaching up, and after a moment of hesitation, slid her mask off her face.

“I’m so sorry that I missed our date! It’s just, I thought it was Thursday, honestly, I got distracted and completely forgot and I-“

(Y/n) cut Wanda off by stepping forward, cupping her face gently, and pressing her lips to Wanda’s. “Has anyone ever told you that you’re absolutely adorable when you ramble?” She asked softly.

Wanda laughed lightly, and rubbed the back of her neck, “well uh, no,” she said, smiling, she was in shock, she certainly hadn’t expected to tell (y/n) who she was, much less for anything else to happen. “How about I take you out this weekend, for real this time?” She said.

(Y/n) nodded, “I’d like that.”

Loki/Tony Stark - 41+77 xx

Ooooh. Okay. 

Post Ragnarok. Thor brings Loki back to Earth (it is a bad idea, but its all Thor and Co come up with) 

As expected, people are suspicious of Loki. As they should be, he is a worthy addition to Strange’s list of beings to monitor. Tony being Tony, curious and a little bit reckless offers to be the one to monitor Loki. No one mentions how Tony has a bad habit of wanting to keep powerful beings under house arrest on his compound, that maybe this is a bad idea. But no one argues too hard with him because “it’s the obvious choice” and “it’s the right thing to do" and “someone’s gotta keep close tabs on the guy who threatened the whole damn planet before. who better than Stark.” Tony knows its because no one else wants to do it (other than Thor but while he’s an avenger he really isn’t human at all so it can’t be his job).

He keeps his distance, has a state of the art system installed to keep tabs on his house guest. But Tony is a hands on person. Always has been, always will be. He can’t let computers, robots and machines do the whole job even if they are his own tech. He wants to touch. For the sake of science, for the sake of humanity. Nothing else. 

He finds Loki almost too easily. He knows that Loki knows that they’ve been watching him. Loki knows why, it was never a secret. So obviously Loki wanted to be found, or he doesn’t care. Doesn’t matter. Tony uses the bottle of wine to point Loki in the direction of the bar and pours them both a generous glass. Then another. And another.

Tony knew this would happen. He has always had a taste for things that are on the side of probably not good for him and Loki is no exception. He likes Loki. Loki is funny and exciting, arrogant and rude and can mostly keep Tony on his toes. He isn’t sure if it’s out of sheer curiosity or because of Loki. His raw edges and barely contained chaos. Because he’s messy. And a little easy in a way that is completely confusing. Tony is more than a bit frightened that he doesn’t seem to care why at all.

Tony isn’t used to being shocked much anymore but nearly drops his glass when without warning Loki presses their lips together firmly- but gently; entirely too soft for the kind of men they are. He’s certain that Loki is playing him, that this is just another lie in a web of lies Loki is spinning, manipulating. The other option is terrifying. That this is the truth and Loki likes him too. That this could be a compromise between Loki genuinely liking him and being incapable of telling the truth so he uses actions as a distraction, an ambush as a disguise. So Tony kisses him back, giving as good as he gets, still shocked at the realization that this is possibly the most honest he’s seen Loki, that he could ever see Loki, that this very well could be the god of lies saying something as plainly and honestly as he can.

favorite thing about them: I very much like the way he talks. I am a huge hoe for voices and I perhaps enjoy his a little too much. He is not called silver tongue for nothing, folks.

least favorite thing about them: Two things: his apparent ‘intelligent asshole’ club membership and the fact that he is the greasiest boy I’ve seen people fawn over since Snape.

favorite line: It’s without a doubt the ‘Satisfaction is not in my nature’ bit from TDW bcs, to me, it explains Loki’s whole character perfectly. He is forever torn between two opposite states, with neither of them making him 100% happy with where he is. (I almost answered this with just ‘Ohhh, brother’, but then I remembered that this particularly slutty moan was not canon, but just tommy h being a thirsty hoe in one of the interviews for the first Thor movie)

BrOTP: I am a huge fan of the posts about Loki and Peter being friends. That one with Thor and Gamora vs Loki and Nebula discussing siblings is my fave as well, but tbh, Loki has no friends in the MCU and really very few prospects in that field.

OTP: I have always been and I always will be a Thorki stan, it’s too good.

NOTP: I have like 4 notps in total in a huge variety of fandoms, and I usually empathise with all the reasons for shipping things, but damn, I just don’t get frostiron. NO.

random headcanon: Even though he would never believe it and has always seen them as rivals in a constant competition for Thor’s affection, the Warrior’s 3 and Sif (or as I like to call them Thor’s Merry Band of Exes) actually valued, loved, and cherished Loki.

unpopular opinion: Apparently thinking that this astro grease boy operates in a state of constant gay panic with no real planning involved in any stage of his decision making process is an unpopular opinion in this fandom.

song i associate with them: ‘Bird of Paradise’. It has zero words, but it always gives me that Loki vibe I cannot shake off.
