Thanks to @valdomarx for tagging me! This was my first year ever being involved in a fandom and writing anything with regularity, so it’s fun to look back and see how I’ve grown!
1. Vivre d’amour et d’eau fraîche - This is maybe my top favorite out of the things I’ve written so far. When I played through the Toussaint DLC I immediately knew I would have to write a retirement fic. I really the idea of Jaskier and Geralt not really being in the right place to come together until after the events of the Witcher 3 (ish, this is still with the netflix characterization in mind), and then finally finding themselves in the right place personally to fit together.
2. so easy to say (so hard to do) - The halftober challenge I did this year was really great, I feel like writing regularly really helped me find my style and learn how to be concise. This was one that I recently wrote a follow up to, but I really like the original piece.
3. hematoma of the heart - Self indulgent Jaskier whump honestly. I love Jaskier getting hurt but not being a baby about it, and Geralt being forced to realize that his regular berating has consequences.
4. a heartbeat in hand - Sort of kind of based on george’s delicate sensibilities series, basically just Geralt agonizing over Jaskier’s hands. Pride and Prejudice gave me brainworm and that’s my explanation.
5. your skin carries echoes of me - My first fic posted in the fandom! Also my longest completed thus far, though tempo is already longer and will be way longer when it’s (finally) complete. This one got started because I could NOT let the concept of Geralt having to depend on Jaskier because he was cursed, and that really launched me into the fandom! I don’t think it’s my best work anymore, but it has a special place in my heart for getting me started. I’ve made so many friends in such a short amount of time and I love this fandom so much <3
