Bylers act like they invented the 'les' suffix as if that hasn't been used in fandom spaces for decades. You guys didn't invent genderbending! You didn't invent wlw pairings! You didn't invent lesbians!

People adding a 'les' suffix to their pairings to genderbend them is not reheating Byler nachos be so fucking serious for one second. Stop gatekeeping normal fandom things.

the concept of lesjancy or lestonathan in canon is soo interesting to me just thinking about logistics of it all bc. ok. you essentially have a few options.

jon and nancy are girls and steve is a guy still. same plot except wlw jancy and less jealousy on steve's end. he does still get punched by joanne byers AND nancy wheeler bc again he thinks nancy's playing with him and then insults joanne's family.

everyone's a girl but instead of nancy and stevie being in a situationship its more of a mean girls situation, with nancy getting invited to be part of the "in" crowd.

everyone's a girl and nancy and stevie did, in fact have a thing that night. joanne was taking photos of the party, which then transitioned to her getting photographic evidence of the two of them together. stevie would rather die than have that get out. nancy is grieving, mad at herself+ internalized homophobia +guilt bc the first time she actually gave in to what she wanted, for once, her best friend dies and isn't that a sign? to suppress herself? but then she finds herself growing closer to joanne byers while she looks for her little brother. joanne knows she's a lesbian, has known for a long time, since lonnie was throwing words at her and that one hit. stevie is little miss perfect, and she can't risk anything like this getting out, so she deflects, calling joanne a queer and a creep and antagonizing her until she's gone too far and then. well. she shows up at the byers house.

do you only add the prefix les- to any ship turned wlw or is it solely when headcanoning characters as lesbian

any non-wlw ship turned wlw

both characters must be headcanoned as lesbian
