this 2016 story was supposed to be entirely about joe and joyce being coerced into pretending to be married as a joke, lol, and then halfway through writing/drawing the story...

...joyce hijacked it

this was not my intent going in

i don't think it was even my intent while starting to draw that specific strip, before i myself got to the final panel

but it's just more interesting material, you know?

for both couples, really

anyway, so i got to the end, realized i'd sabotaged my own joyce/joe story with dorothy, and i tried to patch it up in this final strip by giving them a moment

anyway, pretty sure i'd never ever do something like that again

never ever again
