Y'know something i don't see people talk about in tadc is the flawed aspect of Ragatha being a "polyanna" (i love that word)
Her take on "Toxic positivity"
i'm not really gonna discuss the movie here so this is spoiler free :] (until where i cut it. Don't click "read more")
I think that Ragatha's flaw of being way too overly positive to the point where it's toxic was not well written. Tbh it comes off as everyone else being an asshole to a woman who is genuinely trying to be nice.
If you don't watch TADC under the lense of analysis or fan theories then everyone's disdain for Ragatha just comes out of nowhere.
Especially in a world where negative feelings and feeling hopeless and giving up completely results in metaphorical DEATH.
Yes i understand that its because they can never tell if she's being genuine or real bc it sounds fake but once again: Any feelings of being isolated or giving up RESULTS IN WHATEVER ABSTRACTION IS.
HEAR ME OUT
Personally, how i would write Ragatha's toxic positivity would be like this
For an example, lets give them all an adventure. I'll make one up for her: it's a softball horse race for her, but caine fucks it up and makes it way more dangerous.
Ragatha guides everyone through bc this is her bread and butter. All the while Kinger seems to be playing along as he and ragatha have the closest relationship.
Gangle is scared and is constantly on edge but Ragatha keeps her uplifted as much as possible. But when gangle realizes she genuinely can't do something here, Ragatha tells her to "Don't say that! You can do ANYTHING you put your mind to! Don't talk yourself down!" and gangle is like "No I-I genuinely can't do this"
Zooble is trying their best to stay out of this but Ragatha is thinking that Zooble feels excluded and is trying way too hard to find something for Zooble to do.
Jax keeps making things more difficult as the main instigator but Ragatha keeps uplifting him, making everyone else groan thinking she's just ennabling him.
Pomni is watching all of this go down and tries to tell ragatha to tone it down. and Ragatha listens! She wants to take everyone's suggestions seriously after all!!
All the while she's doing her best to keep everyone happy
But it all comes to ahead when they all feel like they can't keep going. Pomni tries to talk to her
"Ragatha we can't do this"
"Yes you can! We can do anything"
"No no- We genuinely don't feel safe doing this"
"BUT YOU WILL FEEL SAFE!! I'LL MAKE SURE! I CAN DO IT- WE CAN DO IT!"
"NO."
David from Camp Camp is a good example of what i'm trying to convey (ignore season 5)
someone who is so obsessed with the idea of lifting up others that they not only ignore themselves but ignore the others. Ragatha will make sure they are uplifted and safe! She can do this! She won't break! She'll make sure this is a good experience! It has to be!
She'll prove that she is likable and a positive person to know! Her mother was wrong, people will like her! She's gotta just take the punches and criticisms and change herself completely based on what everyone says!
The episode would end with the kinger and ragatha conversation in the gun episode. and then, with help from pomni (and the others) they all get out of this by forfeiting the game,
Showing ragatha that its okay to fail and bail.
(MOVIE SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT NOW)
"the ai bubble is really big amd scary and could have-" [hears the word Bubble and thibks about blowing bubbles and smiles so wide and gets really happy] do you want to play in the grass with me?
It's crazy to see people's misogyny run so deep that it's literally affecting their relationship with their own pets.
"Girl cats just aren't as affectionate :("
"Girl dogs never like me that's why I always get boy dogs :("
And like I don't like to anthropomorphize the emotions of animals, so I'm not going to say I know exactly how animals feel about it. But I will say if you genuinely never have good interactions with animals that happen to be girls then I have to assume you're the one treating every girl animal really weird and you're an asshole. And if you are having good interactions with girl animals and are still saying shit like this then like. You're cherry picking instances to be misogynistic about animals online for no reason and you're an asshole.
this is so rampant among horse people it's wild. i rode a mare all my life and she was the gentlest, kindest soul i've ever met in any animal. yet the way every other rider i worked with, including women, would make assumptions and disparage her like 'oh you couldn't pay me to ride a mare' because they're supposedly difficult, unpredictable, and mean. it's crazy to listen to people talk about a horse the same way men talk about their 'crazy exes' in 90s sitcoms and that is not an exaggeration.
I'm a trans woman but I do not think I count as a doll. The word "doll" as applied to trans women implies a level of cunt-servitude that I neither have achieved nor am working toward achieving. I am some other kind of toy that is cheaper and less sexy
this is me, btw, if you even care
"it would be so good if it was good" will haunt you but "it's extremely good, except for the one or two parts which are so bad it's genuinely kind of insulting" will straight up drive you insane
one has you making posts like "okay but if the author UNDERSTOOD the POLITICAL IMPLICATIONS of the story they were telling, and leaned into it, it would actually be a really interesting exploration of..."
the other has you pacing your bedroom at one in the morning going "why. why would you ever in a million years do it like that. genuinely what possible thought process was involved. was the writer possessed by a fucking ghost or something."
In a world away from our own, I want you to know that no matter where you go or what you do this cookie will always be there for you. Like me. Because to me you are… Like home
MARTIAN MANHUNTER & MISS MARTIAN In DC's Supergirl Next Door (2026)
what being a transfem jax truther felt like... after... episode 9.......
So I don't like to engage in fandom discourse but I am so confused on how people keep denying the scene with Ribbit was not about Jax being transfem because I went to it with my parents and there were a lot of children in the cinema and it was completely clear for the aforementioned that it was a scene about her coming out to Ribbit. I didn't even engage myself in the theory much until the finale and—It's just impossible to deny. Is media literacy really /that/ dead? Does everything have to be spoonfed in a silver spoon to people now for them to believe it? You really need Jax to turn to the screen and yell "I'm a trans woman by the way"? Please connect the dots. Its easy.
"when i showed weakness i was less of a man than him" and "i said something deep and personal that i thought would get her off my back" and ribbit putting their bow on jax and then saying "your secret is safe with me" while jax is happy and blushy looking at the bow and the montage of jax scenes with isn't she lovely playing in the background WE WONNNNNNN WE SO FUCKING WON
Big plushies are the second best thing in the world

Pokemon GO's new log-in screen for Forever Forward is a throwback to one of its oldest ones!
I’m not sure which one came first but I’m happy for their transition!
Good for her and for the family and for pedestrian safety :)
There's a book that we had in our house growing up that I was obsessed with as a kid. It was just called "PAKISTAN: PAINTINGS BY LIN YONG AND SU HUA" and it was an art book of 100+ paintings/sketches by two Chinese artists who travelled thru Pakistan in 1978 and 1981, a sort of travelogue of their trip, and to little-kid me, it was some of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen. I have no idea why we had that book, but I would stare at it for hours, and it made me wish I could draw/paint/do whatever it was that these artists had managed to do.
Anyway, we've moved house a bunch of times and I lost track of the book and haven't seen it for probably two decades now. But I think about it now and again, and had struggled to find it over the years, but I finally, finally got my hands on a copy of my own and i want to cry haha
I was afraid that maybe the art isn't as good as I remembered, being just a kid and all, but I cracked it open and nope, it hits me just the way it used to. Maybe even more now. It's so fucking pretty. Have some random pages:
Sure! Have some more portraits from the book
And one thing you should understand is that the underlying guiding moral axiom of this blog is the wholesale destruction of vampires
reddit trans girls do hate themselves but i think the 10+ years of transfem subreddits being seen as cringey and embarrassing and "making the community look bad" to the point that they now all put content warnings on posts made by transfems might have something to do with it. if everyone tells a bunch of teenage girls they are awful and suck they might believe it eventually
people seem to have an idea that trans men believing they have it harder than trans women is a tumblr only problem or a nonproblem but i just saw a tiktok with thousands of trans men in the comments talking about how "female socialization" affects them and trans men experience "biological misogyny" which is worse and that people dont care that "men are being killed too"
