3000 years could not give Goetia the perspective of Humanity, as none born of eternity can ever understand what it is to be finite.
But in this moment, in this last second struggle, he understood.
Even with its dying breath Humanity only ever had and only ever will have one truly eternal component. A wish for itself, for its bretheren, for those that may one day visit or even take its place.
To forever ensure the continuation of this wish is why the Grail and its promises of eternity were originally sought. Why The Lion King wanted so desperately to create the monument that would be The Tower at World’s End. Why the stories and trials of the Singularities needed someone to remember them, even if only for a moment.
A single request, one oft repeated by Mash, now understood by the now Human King Goetia.
“Witness us, and know our story!”
For in their final moments, all a human has is what thoughts of them remain. After all, none are truly dead so long as they are remembered.
