If you have felt tired, burnt out, motivated to make change, but also heavy from the news and the world outside, I hear you. It is necessary to take care of our selves during challenging times. I say this as a reminder to myself because my type-A personality can lead me to work until I tap out (literally, head to pillow!). I see so many people wanting to make a difference, using their voices, educating themselves, educating others, and rallying together. Just remember that your body needs to recharge, recuperate, and relax for you to accomplish. One way I do this (relax) is by taking time away and devoting that space to myself. Ideally I don’t bring my phone (but technology is hard to leave behind) and getting sunshine (remember your SPF). During this pandemic, I’m learning to appreciate my own home. The grass outside that springs wildflowers after the rain. A blanket spread out and snacks that fit the season: berries, kombucha, and @lesserevilsnacks new popcorn flavor 🍋 Lemonade (available at Whole Foods for a limited time!) 💛. Berries and popcorn Are practically summer in edible form, the tart sunshine flavor, the gentle breeze, and shade. Maybe I spend 15 minutes to myself, maybe longer. Afterward I feel better. A little less stressed, a bit brighter from fruit & summer popcorn. After a deep breath (or 5), I can begin. To work and educate, to humble myself and learn. - thank you @lesserevilsnacks for partnering with me for this post. Thank you for speaking up about inclusivity, awareness, and sustainability. I only work with brands I genuinely respect and value 💜 you can find their summer flavors at your nearest Whole Foods market! #lesserevilmoregood #lesserevilsnacks #summerpicnic #selfcareinplace https://www.instagram.com/p/CBWMpG4g7s_/?igshid=dz3dpsyzkjb5
