Les Temps Morts (1964) (short, B/W)
A nihilistic yet beautiful short by Renè Laloux (Fantastic Planet/Le Planete Sauvage, Gandahar, Time Masters) about the inherent violent attitude of humans, an inescapable truth of us exercising and training in murder as a species despite age and sex, where we scramble to find things to do in the titular “dead times” between the last and next conflict.
A great short, included (among pretty much every other short made by Laloux) in the “Masters Of Cinema” DVD + Blu-Ray UK release of Le Planete Sauvage (also know as Fantastic Planet).
