We don't write fanfiction for you.

First, we write for ourselves. We write for free, enjoying where the story takes us.

Secondly, we write for those like us. We want to share our opinions and our thoughts, we want to create a new story. We want to find like-minded people, people who want to keep living in their fandom.

If you don't like something, you have free will to stop reading. If you don't like what we write, don't read it. Please don't hate and don't criticise. Please think about what you comment, I speak from experience, if you comment negatively and unconstructively, the writer will remember it. Maybe they'll lose their motivation, maybe they won't want to write anymore.

I won't speak for anyone else but when I see the notification that there's a new comment on my fic, I don't want that excitement squashed when I see someone dissing my plot, or my storyline or even my writing itself.

A hateful comment will be remembered for longer than you think, even if the writer shoots something back, even if they brush it off and keep going.

You want to decide how we claim our spaces and if it doesn't fit in with your idea of what a black woman is you denigrate us, You devalue our worth. You make fun of us. You try to keep us in boxes.
