I can't stand it anymore, I don't know if it's better to cry or laugh Have you seen the offcial F1 page? I'll post you quotes:
"Mexico up next
Ferrari looking strong, Red Bull still struggling in race trim and as for McLaren - will they be stronger in the high altitude of Mexico City? Mercedes might come back into the mix too, but all eyes will be on Perez to see if he can have a stronger race on home soil." First part is okay, all truth and all but what was next?
"He delivered points today, but lost out to Russell who started from the pit lane and could only come home seventh. And that isn't enough for Red Bull in the constructors', with Ferrari and McLaren delivering bigger hauls with both drivers." Okay, P7 isn't the best, if the Quali didn't end the way it did maybe he would do better but it wasn't the worst. Pointing out (again) why RBR needs both dirvers (as if Checo was just sitting in that seat doing nothing) and the fact that George (who did amazing) started from a pitlane - as if it means Sergio was worse than all of those drivers who finished below P7????? What? And then of course we have the narrative of RBR looking for a new driver: "Hats off to Lawson in his first race back for RB, and first race of any kind since this time last year. He brushed off some rust yesterday in the Sprint, and then looked the real deal today. P19 on the grid to P9 at the flag, and two valuable pints for RB to keep them in striking distance of Haas in the fight for sixth." Yes he did great, yes it's amazing that he basically has no practice and does this well but guess what? There is nothing written about Yuki anywhere, because you know, his defending masterclass today and the way he was out for blood was somehow worse than Liam's for... reasons I guess? I know I might be reading too much into it but please, isn't it weird that even with all the drama between Max and Lando it's not them F1 "journalists" are talking about but Sergio and RBR?
Oh anon, I understand you completely! it's crappy that Checo is always the focus of the press negativity. Lewis abandoned, Fernando dropped places, and many more made mistakes, but Checo is the solely focus of screwing up things.
As long as Checo stays at RBR (or any big team, if he changes to Ferrari or Mercedes, I feel it would be the same, perhaps less toxic) he will be the main focus to criticize, even with all the other drama going around the drivers.
And I just read that Horner warned Checo for the next race, like he does in every race, and yet he doesn't change his car or makes the settings he needs. At least Checo speaks about it now, and tells things as they are.
I'm still hoping he moves to another team (Sauber is taking his sweet time announcing his other driver), and be free from the nightmare that RBR is.
