No I haven't forgotten that I have this blog...
Well, it's been a while since I've posted anything on here, but even longer since I actually wrote more than a few lines. It's not that I haven't wanted to blog, it's just that these past few months have been pretty intense and there's been a lot going on. There is still a lot going on, but things have calmed down slightly and I'm in the mood for writing this week (I wrote my first Wrock song on Sunday night), so here I am.
I watched Finding Hogwarts for the 2nd time tonight and got way too emotional, it's such a beautiful documentary, and even though I've not been quite as involved in the fandom as I know a lot of people have been (I only really discovered Wrock this year, and I haven't yet been to any cons or meetups), it made me so proud to be part of such an amazing community that is so diverse and full of inspirational people, who have created so many amazing things.
There was something really comforting about recognising some of the faces that I saw, because even though they were people that I'd never met or even spoken to, I felt a connection to them because I'd watched their videos on YouTube, listened to their music, and read their blogs etc. This is one of the things that continues to amaze me about the Harry Potter fandom, how you can feel such a strong connection with so many people that you've never met, and how that can make you feel surrounded by good people who understand exactly how you feel. For me Finding Hogwarts really reinforced that feeling because I felt a connection with each and every person who was involved in making it. They're all Harry Potter fans, and I'm a Harry Potter fan, and it's as simple as that.
Of course there were a few pangs of wistfulness at seeing some of the events that I'd missed out on over the years, but I'm not going to dwell on that. Yes I would have loved to have gone to as many of them as possible, and yes it probably would have been amazing, but the fact is that for one reason or another I couldn't, end of story, I can't change that. And that's OK, because it doesn't change the fact that I had the best time growing up with Harry and becoming a part of this fandom. Nothing will ever change that. It was, and still is, the most magical experience; it has made me who I am today and will ALWAYS be a part of me. And I feel blessed because of that.

This song reflects how we imagine Crouch felt towards his son, and the many questions he had for his wife. This video is meant to portray Crouch's wife as a ghost. '
