Eh, the lighting is crap, and this fabric is extremely dark navy to begin with. It's got a lot of pros, in that it's the least expensive velveteen that was vaguely blue I could find at @fabricdotcom, and it's 100% cotton (and 100% washable), but I wish I could have gotten the royal blue. It was sold out when I bought the navy and the white, and it's still sold out. The navy and the white are sold out, as well, so I'm glad I snagged them when I did. I just wish I'd thought of this earlier. Anyway, this is the skirt I'm pairing with the "Let it Schnee" sweater (design by the fantastic @martanimate). It's a navy velvet circle skirt, and it will have the Schnee emblem appliquéed on. I'll also be adding some absolutely gorgeous white and silver lace to the hem, and I'll be hand sewing about a zillion Swarovski rhinestones to the skirt as an embellishment. The top photos show me trying to figure out placement for the appliqué over my workout clothes because I'm super classy, and the bottom photo shows my attempts to figure out how to attach the appliqué. I tried a regular straight stitch in normal thread and in silver, and those were okay. The satin stitch was WAY too wide (can't adjust that on this machine), but I discovered the buttonhole stitch was the perfect width. :) I'm confident this cosplay will be finished in time for CAD. I'm hoping to complete it tonight (minus the rhinestones, because i bought literally 201 of them) now that I'm done casting Eeveelution charms and am mostly on top of my Etsy orders.
