Maelstrom
Week four and a half. Steven was yearing heavily to go home but he knew it wouldn’t come without confrontation when his family did get there--and why were they taking so long? Holly would find out he was a gem for sure. He didn’t think he could convince her not to harm his family anymore than he could convince the gems not to harm her.
And he wanted to bring her back with him, and the Amethysts. He wanted to bring the humans too, but he knew they wouldn’t survive outside of an area that gave them everything they were dependent on. They never had to learn to survive.
It was so conflicting and probably something she noticed as he walked with her as he usually did and seemed incredibly quiet. Aptly enough, it seemed the flower crowns were beginning to wilt as well.
