The one week delay was to give him an opportunity to gain more weight and allow him increased chance of surviving this major surgery. That one week wait paid off. The operation was successful! Charlie's intestine is still in good condition and has been put back in the correct place, and the hole in his abdominal muscles/lining was stitched. Thus the vets found that his abdominal muscles/lining is very thin, that was why it was ruptured so easily. This is a risky situation for a tiny kitten like Charlie, as it can ruptured again. As he grows bigger and older, his muscles will also get stronger. With good living condition and nutrition, he will be able to stay healthy. Until then, we need to keep a close watch on him, and try to keep him away from a too-rough playing sessions. Other than that, Charlie is showing himself to be an active, mischievous kitten who loves to play. And yet when you pick him up and stroke him, he immediately turns into a purring machine. ❤️ Stay healthy Cutie Charlie!! God Bless Pipin, his adopted parents and the kind souls of @letsadoptindonesia #Repost @letsadoptindonesia ・・・ Our Pippin's story was aired on ABC News on January 23, 2017! 💖 (Part 2) The plight of Jakarta's strays, and the group of people that try to improve the situation rarely receives much acknowledgment. But that does not make us, Let's Adopt! Indonesia (LAI), less enthusiastic in the struggle to make the lives of those strays better. This video from Australian ABC News highlights one victorious story, that of Pippin the dog. It is a story with a happy ending, although it does not show you the struggle behind the scenes LAI, the fosters, the vets, the flight volunteers, Let's Adopt! Global (LAG) and everyone else involved went through to get that happy ending. We cannot save every single beautiful soul out there. But for the few that we can, we will do everything in our power to give them the life that they deserve. We hope this story may open more eyes towards the struggle of Indonesian strays and open more hearts to support LAI to fight for these forgotten strays. We hope it will open more doors to help reduce the need for animal rescues, by being responsible owners. LAI will continue the good work until such time that it is no longer needed. @Regrann from @letsadoptindonesia - Nico needs your prayers!! After showing some improvement from his acupuncture session the last time, his condition suddenly dropped. He was admitted to the clinic, was given fluid IV and was observed round the clock. Unfortunately his condition worsen, and now Nico cannot move 😭. He has to be syringe fed as he cannot feed by himself. After a series of checks, the vet diagnosed that there was a damage in the central nervous system. The differential diagnosis led to stroke or Meningitis. Feline meningitis (brain tissue inflammation) is a condition that occurs in cats when one or more of the three tissue layers that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord, known as the “meninges,” become inflamed and/or infected. Meningitis is not a disease. It can be caused by anything that triggers the inflammatory cascade in the tissues of the meninges. This can be viral, protozoal, bacterial, fungal, rickettsial or parasitic. Source: http://bit.ly/2cETT16 For now, Nico will continue his acupuncture sessions. Hopefully it will help to stabilize his condition, before further tests and treatment can be performed. Please pray for our lovely Nico. He needs all the support and love to fight this.
