Room with a view. Twice in the last week I have been in this room. But today I am having stitches removed after last week having a spot on my left shoulder cut out. It was Superficial Basal Cell Carcinoma or a form of skin cancer. A while back @beckyhigginsllc shared her experience and urged others to get checked out. My spot had been there for a while and I knew all along it was going to be skin cancer. So that was the final nudge I needed. That was a month ago. And now today I can say that spot is 100% clear. Now will come the annual body scans. But it will be worth it to catch any other spots early. Make sure you do regular body checks and always have a loved one or friend look at the places you cannot easily see. Early detection can prevent serious cancers from spreading and they are easier to treat. I will have a 3" scar on my shoulder which will be a forever reminder to keep an eye on suspicious spots and moles. I was lucky. My cancer was one of the best types to have ( if any cancer) could be called that and it was caught early so there wasn't a lot of work my doctor had to do to remove and treat it. Thanks again @beckyhigginsllc for getting the word out! #projectlife365 #cancersucks #roomwithaview #doctorsoffice #getscannedyearly #earlydetection #spreadtheword #letskickcancersbutt (at Carilion Clinic Dermatology and Mohs Surgery)
