Oh, I know we will get storylines, after all The Charmings are still the leads (as well as Regina, I also want to see more about her and Snow, their relationship was so good before the Daniel incident that I've always craved for a resolution), but I'm worried that the writers might get distracted with other stuff. You know, I liked S2 and 3 but at the same time it felt like we were so busy with curses and magic and throwing new characters and EVERYONE IS RELATED and it lost some of its focus.:/
I know exactly what you mean. There have been just so many other things, a million other character's story to tell and explore and new characters/relationship were added to the existing dynamics (see Hook, Neal or even Pan for example). Lately what I've been missing on the show (actually ever since the first season ended) is the sort of constant stillness that allowed the writers to explore all the relationships and characters deeply. Just think about the MM/Emma friendship. That could happen thanks to the simple fact that they had a whole season to develop that relationship and there wasn't always an evil force to battle or loss to grieve. Of course I understand that the show has changed a lot since that, and even just breaking the curse made it all flip upside down. However I still miss it.
Actually I don't even know if it's possible to bring that stillness back, or if the writers even want to do that. But that somehow made me fall in love not just with the show itself, but the characters as well. And their relationships, connections as well. They had the time to tell us their backstories and there was simply no rush. And honestly, now sometimes I miss that.
