hey, I know you probably get this question a lot, but where do you get your dolls (parts and all)? I see links for ebay occasionally, but I was curious if there were any specific sites or stores? :)
Hi! I'm not sure whether you're asking about where I find the photos for the blog in general, or where I buy my own dolls. So I'll answer both of those questions! Sorry, this is kind of longwinded. 1) Where do the doll photos come from: all over the web, really. I try to indicate the original source whenever possible. (Some of the pictures are things I saved years ago without noting the source, unfortunately). These days, my most common sources are Flickr and eBay - if I'm reposting a photo from eBay, I will also include the seller's ID if I can. I also occasionally upload/post photos that I took myself. I have an Etsy store where I sell vintage/antique dolls and toys, among other stuff! (aquamarinedream.etsy.com)2. Where do I shop for dolls and doll parts for my own collection: two major places. Online, it's mostly eBay. Living in Canada, I have to pay a lot more for shipping most of the time, but I've still managed to get some good deals. Etsy is also worth a look. Ruby Lane has a lot of beautiful antique dolls, but they're mostly beyond my price range. Offline, there are two auction houses near where I live, and every week they have sales full of interesting, weird old stuff. Sometimes there are dolls. I've gotten some really phenomenal bargains (and also had some heartbreaking losses). Hope this helps! Thanks for writing. :)
