Being Aware of Harmful Thoughts. Noticing a harmful thought before it gathers momentum toward action is a great benefit or awareness. It is easy to intervene when you encounter danger at the thought level. You can think absolutely anything you want. You will think plenty of things that you don’t want or would never do. If you recoil from the thoughts they could keep coming back.
