Leverage 5x12 “The White Rabbit” is so interesting because they claim that Sophie never completed The White Rabbit before, a con where you flip the mark’s sense of morality.
But. Didn’t she?
In 3x14, “The Ho Ho Ho Job”, Sophie is left with the mark in the hospital. She uses the drugs on his bedside to disorient and contain him, then has the Santa he fired come in to convince him that he is the real Santa, and that he should call off his mall heist. The mark does so, and by the end of the episode has completely turned a corner and reinstated the toy drive. Santa himself says that he was worried it was just the drugs talking, but that the man truly seems to have found a new sense of morality.
They flipped a man’s morality before using drugs and dreamlike experiences, why is it so different now?
