*cheerfully* so I was contemplating making a "why all the existing leverage ot3 winks haven't been terribly satisfying to Me, The Most Important Person In the World" sort of post (yeah I know that's a boring and very old fandom wank) when I had a realization.
look. we assume that Hardison (too online) and Breanna (gen z) would be the most likely to Care about their specific Queer Identities. sure. yeah. agreed.
but consider. Eliot Spencer, "very distinctive x", life depends on recognizing, memorizing, and categorizing shit in less than three seconds, is actually the person most likely to throw a fit if someone assumes he's bisexual when he's *actually* a sex-positive aromantic pansexual sexually inclined towards women but not opposed to men.

speaking of the leverage pilot.
hardison questioning what eliot even does on the rooftop-> eliot's first onscreen fight ending and him turning to hardison with a "that's what i do".
in a very meaningful way. both the show and eliot himself define his role on the team as someone who protects hardison.
so. so the rundown job. hardison smug and self-assured in the elevator because he knows eliot is there. the way eliot and parker were looking at hardison in while he was hacking the motion sensors. "how about a kiss for luck" "who needs luck" eliot and hardison's high five while parker flips through the lasers. eliot's little whistle at parker when she's holding the diamonds. "that thing you don't do anymore?" "i'm running with a different crowd. a hacker. and a thief." eliot trying to get them to leave dc. parker and hardison refusing to leave eliot alone. "for better or worse, we change together" the neck grab. "you're the smartest guy i've ever known, hardison." the entire scene defusing the bomb. eliot and parker watching hardison hack the car. eliot nodding at parker right before she goes in for the kiss with hardison. everything about this episode makes me insane.
the beginning of the hotel sequence in the big bang job is gonna haunt me forever. hardison getting more and more frantic in the elevator. eliot being super subdued and quiet, only speaking to tell hardison to stick close to him. eliot's microexpressions when moreau walks through the door. hardison glancing between eliot and moreau. the dawning horror in his eyes as he realizes that eliot knows moreau, and that he knows him pretty fucking well.
