Lately, your attention has been captured by a new book series, to the point where you wonât stop talking about it. Wanting to know exactly what it is that youâre talking about, Levi does some reading of his own.Â
(Alternatively: Levi is so down bad that he reads an entire book series for you and ends up actually loving it by accident.)

Youâre curled up in his bed, absorbed in a book, when Levi returns to his quarters after a strategy meeting nursing a killer headache.Â
âOh, hey,â You say softly, raising your head and offering him a small, warm smile that somehow takes off the edge of his oncoming migraine. âHowâd it go?â
He barely gets out a grunt in response. Levi wants nothing more to dive between the sheets and get a proper nightâs sleep for once in his life, but the busy day had left him no room to shower before the meeting. Barely holding back a wince as a particularly intense throb of pain passes by, he neatly hangs up his jacket, sets his boots aside and pads over to the ensuite bathroom.Â
âI see,â you continue, sensing his exhaustion. âIâll make you some tea, yeah?â
He nods, thanking every lucky star out there for blessing them with you, before closing the bathroom door behind him.Â
One shower and two warm cups of chamomile tea later, heâs curled against your side, head resting atop your shoulder and eyes shut whilst you finish the last chapter of your book. Normally, the moment Levi gets into bed, you stop and devote all your attention on him, but the last week or so, this book has had a vice-like chokehold on you.Â
He cracks his eyes open. Through the fog of exhaustion and pain, the words swim across the pages. He canât tell if youâre on the last page of the chapter or not. âYou almost done?â
âJust on the last page.âÂ
Levi finds himself huffing through his nose. Despite feeling absolutely drained, his insomnia wonât let him fall asleep until youâre lying down next to him, fingers running through his hair.Â
âOkay,â he says, âread your damn book faster.âÂ
âAlmost there, baby,â you coo, and he closes his eyes again.Â
A few moments later, Levi hears you exhale and the book snap shut.Â
âWhatâs this book about anyway?â he asks as the two of you settle underneath the quilt. âYouâve been reading it every spare moment you get.âÂ
Your eyes seem to light up as you grin. The sight paired with your cheek being squished up against the pillow, facing him, makes his heart flutter. âItâs absolutely amazing, Levi, you must read it. SoâŚâÂ
Though the two of you were lying down, cozy and warm under the quilt, you show no signs of sleepiness as you animatedly talk through the premise, the story and the finer details of what you declare is your favourite book of all time. (âHow can it be your favourite book when you havenât even finished it?â Levi had asked, utterly puzzled.) He canât deny that youâd lost him about half-way through into your rant despite his tired brain whizzing at a thousand miles an hour to try and keep up with your ramblings, but heâs more than content just watching you talk. Face aglow with excitement and passion, Levi canât help but think that you are the most beautiful being he has ever laid eyes upon. He makes sure to nod and hum, finds himself smiling a little whenever you gush about your favourite character; the spark in your eyes absolutely captivating.Â
âHey,â you say, nudging his leg with your foot, âIâve completely lost you, havenât I?âÂ
Pulled out of his reverie, he blinks slowly. âNo,â he lies. âCarry on.âÂ
You shake your head. âIâm sorry, youâre clearly tired. Letâs get some rest now, and I can re-explain some stuff that didnât make any sense. Only if youâre interested, though. Itâs kind of a complicated story, soâŚâÂ
He nods, and you beam. Levi quickly rolls over to blow out the candle on the bedside table, and settles down in his favourite positionâhis face tucked into the crook of your neck, an arm draped over your waist, hand resting on the small of your back. He feels you bury your face in his hair, before your fingers follow, and he lets himself smile in secret.Â
Heâs asleep in minutes, and you follow soon after.
âââ
Youâre onto the next book in the series now, and Levi is getting increasingly more confused at your ramblings despite his best efforts, and even a little curious. Since the âheart-wrenchingâ cliffhanger of the first book, the rest of the book series has been on your mind non-stop.Â
Holding the copy of the first book in his hands, he asks the owner of the bookstore, âhow much?â
He internally winces at the price that leaves her mouth, but parts with his gold regardless. Your book collection and meticulously-arranged bookshelf was your most prized possession; your eagle-eyes would notice if heâd taken one small book from the massive bookshelf. Buying his own copy would have to do - plus, itâs not like heâs going to read the whole series, just the first book to get some basic, contextual knowledge. Right?
Fifteen days later, Levi buys the second book. He just couldnât help himselfâthat cliffhanger was cruel, he had to agree with you. But itâs not as if heâs going to become just as invested as you are and think of nothing but the books; nobody else has read these, and you deserved somebody to talk to that vaguely understood what was going on. Thatâs all.Â
Ten days after that, Levi returns to buy the third book. Heâs not entirely sure how the author has done it, but itâs as if thereâs some sort of drug between the pages. Resigning himself to the fact that he truly has sold his soul to the author and is not only reading for you but for himself, too, he picks up the copy and walks up to the bookshop owner, coins ready at hand.Â
âYou know, I do sell the entire series at a discounted price,â the bookshop owner says with a twinkle in her eye. Â
He struggles to hide the massive complete boxset of the book series in his office, but manages to clear out space in one of his drawers.Â
âââ
Nowadays, you spend most of your evenings updating Levi with what has happened in the book. Heâs managed to nearly catch up to where you are in the series, staying up late under the pretence of filling out paperwork that had already been completed hours ago. Youâve threatened to chew Erwin out for the supposed intense workload, but to stop you from blowing his cover, Levi had calmly assured you he would take it up with Erwin himself.Â
His plan seems to be working. You have yet to truly catch on to the fact heâs been quietly reading the book to properly understand your ramblings. But the book the both of you are on is the most intense by far, and this time, Leviâs hesitant for your book update. He desperately wants to experience it for himself, since most of what heâs read have been unintentionally spoiled by you already.Â
He shoves his copy of the book into the drawer upon hearing you knock. âCome in.âÂ
You open the door. âJust sent my recruits to the showers, got the rest of the night free. Looks like Erwin listened to you, finally.â
His desk is currently empty; heâs busted. Levi nods. âYeah, I managed to actually finish and submit my work before 6pm today, thank fuck.â He doesnât sound convincing to his own ears, but you donât see through it. Â
Beaming, you bound over and gesture for him to get up. âGreat! Because you will not believe what happened in the last chapter I read.â Linking arms, you guide him to the sofa, and he moves without any resistance. Shit, how is he going to get out of this? Youâll give out another spoiler and ruin the suspense that had been building up in the last three books!
Levi remains tight-lipped as the two of you take a seat on the sofa, curled inwards to face each other, pressed side-to-side. Your lips run faster than his brain, and before he knows it, youâre launching yourself into a rapid retelling of the last few chapters. He follows along, nothing too major, until you reach the scene in which the huge secret is about to be revealed.Â
âOh, youâll never guess this, but it turns out thatââ
He snaps.Â
âFuck, donât! Iâm not having this spoiled for me any more than it already has been, damn it!â The words burst out of him faster than he can think, cutting you off abruptly.Â
You blink, mouth agape.Â
Levi internally curses the day he picked up the book at the bookshop when your lips curve into a shit-eating grin. âLevi,â you drawl, clearly having recovered from your surprise, âdonât tell me you got so hooked you started reading along with me.âÂ
He proceeds to then silently curse his pale complexion, feeling heat rising to his cheeks. Fuck, he must look like a fucking tomato right now. The words come out in a pathetically low whisper. âI got tired of not being able to understand what you were talking about and I know you donât have anyone else to talk to about this series so⌠but I hadnât caught up yet so I couldnât tell you, and I didnât know how to.âÂ
âAw, no, donât hide your blush away from me,â you tease him gently, stopping his face from turning away. Your fingertips are cool against his flaming hot cheeks. âThatâs so cute.âÂ
âDo not call me cute,â he grumbles.
Your lips settle into a very kissable pout, almost enticing enough to make him forget his own embarrassment. Almost. âBut you are! You read the whole series because you put up with my constant rambling about it and wanted to understand something Iâm clearly passionate about. Itâs really sweet of you! But you got invested, didnât you?â
Your hands still rest on his face, cupping his cheeks. His own hands come to lightly grasp at yours, lowering them. He canât meet your eyes. âFine, yeah, I got invested. Happy?â
âVery.â You peck his lips lightly. âIâm sorry for spoiling things for you when you were trying to catch up this whole time.â Another peck.Â
âItâs fine.â He tugs you closer, leaning in for another kiss. âYou can make it up to me by holding off on reading any further until Iâm on that chapter.âÂ
You gasp, eyes comically wide. âLevi!â You whisper, as if he had just asked something scandalous. âI canât go that long!âÂ
âIf I can go for weeks whilst being spoiled, you can spend a few days not touching that book.â He says, triumph flaring in his chest. âAll that extra time. You can use it to train. Or clean. Or organise the absolute mess thatâs hiding behind your wardrobe door.âÂ
Your shoulders slump. âFine.â The dejected expression on your face tugs at his heartstrings, and he sighs.Â
Heâll just have to read it quickly. He canât stand the sight of you being frustrated at not being able to read, after all.Â
âââ
Four torturous days in which your fingers itched and itched and itched to snatch your copy of your book up and pick up where youâd left off. Four days in which you could only enviously watch Levi as he reads his own copy, catching up to you. Oftentimes, heâd peek over the top of the book and give you a taunting look, as if to say, âthis is what youâre missing out onâ. (You didnât bother to dignify it with a response. For all his strength on the battlefield, he could be rather childish sometimes, but you supposed you werenât much better, huffing and puffing over the fact that you couldnât touch your book. Perhaps you couldâve also been a little less pushy on asking Levi what bit of the book he was currently on every time you saw him, but your boyfriend, despite his grouchy demeanour, had the patience of a saint.)
On the fifth day, he enters your shared quarters with a happy shine in his eyes, announcing that you could now read on since heâd finally caught up with you. He expectantly walks up to where youâre seated on the sofa, doodling absentmindedly into a spare notebook.Â
âNo.â You say firmly, the idea that had been brewing for the past four days finally coming into fruition.Â
Leviâs thin brows raise. Clearly, heâd expected you to jump up and down in celebration. âNo? Youâve been foaming at the mouth for the past few days because you couldnât read.â Hand on his hip, he waits for your answer, looking progressively more confused.Â
It takes a great effort to keep the smile off of your face, but somehow you manage. âNo,â you repeat, âI donât want to keep reading itânot without you.âÂ
Silence fills the room as the words sink in. His mouth parts in surprise, looking adorably flustered. âWhat?â
âI want to read it with you, silly,â you say, smile taking over your face. You toss the pencil and notebook aside, doodles forgotten. âGet your book and come here.âÂ
Levi eyes your open arm, hesitates, and snatches his copy of the book off the bedside table. He sits down next to you, snuggling close so thereâs no space between your bodies.
âWeâll read together,â you propose, and a ghost of a smile lingers on his lips before he presses them to yours in agreement.Â
âYou almost gave me a damn heart attack,â he murmurs against your lips, âthought Iâd majorly pissed you off.â
âAw,â you grin, âwere you about to grovel at my feet? Beg me for forgiveness?â
âDonât be stupid. I never beg.â
âNot even for me?â You flutter your eyelashes at him, but Leviâs face shutters off, completely unimpressed.Â
âEspecially not for you. Now hurry up and open the book.âÂ
You shake your head with a scoff; his impatience to start reading was rather endearing. You open the book on the page heâd marked out for himself, the very same page youâd stopped reading on four days prior. Since your hands are occupied with holding the book open, Levi takes it upon himself to wrap one arm around you, the other resting lightly on your lap, rubbing soothing circles into your thigh.Â
Content, the two of you begin to read. You quickly make it to the end of the double page spread, reaching over to turn the page. Leviâs a fast reader, judging by how quickly he read to catch up to where you were in the story despite not having as much free time as you, so you conclude he was finished as well.Â
A firm, calloused hand envelops yours, gently guiding it backwards. His thumb grazes the back of your hand. Levi leans forward slightly, eyes scanning the bottom of the page. Your heart flutters in your chest as he finishes the paragraph and guides your hand to turn the page now that he had finished.Â
âI wasnât quite done,â he says, but the glint in his pretty eyes softens the deadpan tone of his voice. âItâs flattering you think that Iâm that fast of a reader, but thatâs far from the case.âÂ
âWhat do you meanâoh.â Those consecutive late nights hadnât been for paperwork after all. âOh,â you repeat dumbly, only just now realising the scope of his dedication to understand your newest passion. âYou really didnât have to sacrifice sleep for this, you know.âÂ
âI donât sleep.âÂ
âYeah, but with me you do.â You mumble, face inching closer to his, âno oneâs ever gone to such lengths just to understand something super-specific that Iâm talking about. Like, you really didnât have to.âÂ
Levi tilts his head slightly, brows furrowing. âWhy not? You clearly care a lot about it, of course Iâd want to know more.âÂ
You seal the gap between you with a kiss, his lips soft against yours. âI love you,â you say, because nothing could be closer to the truth. Youâve yet to hear it from him, but if there was any doubts about his feelings for you, the past five minutes alone have proved that he holds you close to his highly-guarded heart.Â
He responds with a kiss that steals the breath from your lungs. Heart filled with warmth, you think to yourself that this is all you could ever want.Â

summary: having assumed you ended things on good terms, youâre clueless as to why the Captain keeps treating you roughly. when you visit his office late in the night, youâre given the closure you least expect.
tw: rough, hate/make up(?) sex
wc: 8,122 yet again ('ââââ) how even?
You fucking resent your exes. Yes, you do. They can be the pettiest creatures in the whole world if they wanted. Talk about the epitome of being a dickhead. And that one certain Captain is no exception. Heâs the worst of the worst, actually.
You sigh exasperatedly as you dispose of the horsesâ wastes for the nth time. Yes, youâre on stable duty yet again just for removing your jacket and wearing a tank top as undershirt, on a hot, summer day. Everybodyâs complaining about the scorching weather, and you could say he shouldnât blame you for wanting to be comfortable, but the Captain chooses to be a prick, saying itâs a violation nonetheless.
Youâre not that naive to not know that heâs especially going hard on you for some reason. Heck heâs not even ordering anyone else around but you.
âItâs fucking burning and this top is decent enough for a uniform!â you murmur to yourself like a child, scooping the last dump while utterly vexed. Lately, he just keeps going for the littlest mistakes and you canât help but suspect that he must be holding some kind of grudge against you. Whatever it is, you have zero ideas other than one.
You finish refilling the water buckets and replacing the hay with new ones. Finally done with your work, you close your eyes shut, breathing in the fresh air. You then stand straight and stretch out your limbs with all your might, spinning your head to crack some stiffened bones in the neck. After hearing a faint popping sound, you moan in satisfaction. Surely, this should be enough for a clean freak like him.
You give your work a glance one last time, admiring the neatly scoured walls and clean flooring all done by you. You want to think that the horses are grateful with what you did to their stalls as they neigh. Atleast someoneâs got to thank you, right?
You steer to leave the stables and head inside. A good shower can make up for all the trouble. With that thought in mind, you go for your quarters to bring a spare uniform with you in the bathroom. Once youâve stripped off your sticky clothes, you start to wash yourself. The cold liquid hitting your sweaty skin feels refreshing, and at that moment, you decide to stay for longer than one should take in showering. You earned this anyway, cleaning the stables all by yourself first thing in the morning.
Rinsing off the last of soap from your body, youâre left with nothing to do but keep drowning yourself with water. Staring into the wall, the lack of task makes you think back to the past. Itâs actually been two whole months since you broke up with Levi. You still remember clearly how you ended it, stating how you donât really seem like lovers anyway and how it could only hinder both your work and his. It wasnât that taboo having a relationship with a higher ranking officer like how you thought it might be to other peopleâs eyes, but it isnât the best either. All you can say is that you know what you did was for the best. But why is he acting like that? Unable to find a reason, you groan and brush aside the thoughts.
Call it slacking off, you donât really care, but you spent a good one hour or so in there. All freshened up, your mood improved a bit. But just when youâre about to take a turn leading to the mess hall, the devil himself shows up infront of you.
His brows are furrowed as he leans his back against the wall with both arms crossed, infamous steel grey eyes, that though unreadable, pierces into your soul easily. What now? You want to roll your eyes so bad but force yourself to give a salute instead. Act up and heâll make you clean the whole headquarters for fuckâs sake.
âSir,â you firmly call. Levi eyes you from head to toe and quickly notices from your damp hair that you enjoyed yourself with a leisurely bath.
âWhile you were relaxing, everybody had hand-to-hand combat on the training grounds,â he says, obviously waiting for an acceptable explanation from you. His eyes are locked on you immensely, itâs like youâre being rooted to the ground. Great, now you missed out on a whole training session. Caught in action, even.
âSorry, sir. It took me hours cleaning the stables and wanted to tidy myself before lunch,â you explain truthfully, staring straight ahead. A wave of silence takes over for a couple seconds as he stares you down and you avoid his gaze. It suddenly hits you that thereâs only the two of you in the hall, making his stare feel more intimidating than ever, and it irritates you so much.
Part of him accepts your reason, really. Being one for good hygiene, itâs good that you chose to be presentable before facing food, but still, there is no need to take too long in doing so. Besides, itâs also not an excuse to skip training, which he cannot condone.
âLaps after lunch. No stopping until I say so,â he curtly orders and finally walks past you, leaving you alone and frustrated. He definitely knows that you just hopped out of shower and decides to butcher that. How wonderful.
A few more seconds go by and youâre standing in the very same place, feeling your blood boil slowly. Your eyes shut in annoyance, fists clenching. A groan escapes your mouth as you proceed to the dining area, readying yourself for the torturous hours.
â
About a hundred and who-knows-how-many laps later, you could feel your knees trembling. Itâs only a matter of time before you collapse for endlessly running under the searing heat of the sun. With a flock of birds chirping as if to accompany you, and warm air whipping past your cheeks as you jog ahead, step by step, your hatred towards the Captain grows bigger. You canât say heâs being irrational, but this is just too much. Heâs obviously using his power to throw the book at you for some unknown reason.
Without realizing, you fall to the ground, still fully conscious but vision blearing. Lying on your side, you hunch over to curl yourself into a ball, puffing and blowing like crazy to catch your breath. Damn it, youâre exhausted.
On the other hand, the infamous ravenhead observes you from a distance. When you halted before he gave his word, he clicks his tongue and makes his way to your dead beat form. Before you know it, Levi is already looming over you. Of course, itâs like the situation couldnât get any worse!
As much as you want to defend yourself right away to avoid further punishment, youâre taken aback once he offers you a hand to which you accept, but not before gawking at it dumbfoundedly for a good ten seconds, though. You didnât know he still has a little kindness inside him, or maybe heâs guilty?
âI donât recall permitting you to take your precious time and rest, cadet,â he informs, voice stone cold. Oh, yes, just when you thought he still has kindness left inside him.
Your whole body is cramping, but thereâs no way in hell youâd let him see any more of what heâs done to you, so you try to conceal it. You fight him back with a glare, âSorry, sir. Maybe if you didnât give orders after orders I wouldnât naturally collapse,â your tone is not even a bit obedient.
You have no excuses left, nor do you want to just give in and admit your mistake either because it will only probably feed his power tripping ego, and to hell with that.
His eyebrows twitch, figuring youâve no intentions to reason with him. Your stare conveys what you want to say to him that you choose not to put into words; you donât care at all. Heâs acting like a child and youâre not up for that. He might be your superior, but thereâs no damn way his actions could be justified.
âBarking like a dog, I see.â He eyes you one last time before taking his leave. Once heâs turned his back on you, your mouth agapes, thinking full well that heâs finally letting go of his obnoxious demeanor. No more orders? To say the least, it was too early to celebrate.
âDish duty after dinner.â You wish you hadnât heard it.
â
You went along with the assumption that the Captain already lifted your former punishment and not long after, dinner arrives.
âWhat are you eating?â Levi questions, one brow raised and staring you down. He gives your cup of tea and half a bread a scrutinizing look. Heâs sure as hell there arenât any walls breached recently resulting to food shortage, so why are you having almost nothing?
Meanwhile, you guess that now he just wants to meddle with your business. You swear, once you find him alone, youâll absolutely grab the chance to kill him. Or so you want to think. He should be thankful youâre not one to cause a scene.
âIâm on a diet,â you shortly inform before sipping on your tea. Not really. Youâre just drained of appetite and all intention to eat because of everything heâs made you done.
He doesnât seem to like your answer and when you give him a glance, his face seems to have a permanent scowl written on it. âYou call that a diet? Thatâs not healthy,â he says.
âNow you care?â you try your hardest to not roll your eyes. Bantering with the Captain is already turning a few heads enough, you donât want to stir any more commotion.
âI donât need a malnourished soldier around here, cadet, so you better start eating in proper proportions,â his tone is sharp and strict, as if indicating he was in charge and youâre just one to follow, which pisses you off the most. How can he treat you roughly one moment then act all concerned the other? At this point, you canât even believe that you used to go out with him in the past.
âWell, it wonât be quite some time before I go malnourished with you ordering me around like a dog. Now if you will excuse me, sir, I have dish duty to attend to,â you sass him out unenthusiastically in one go before collecting your dirtied china and heading to the kitchen.
The way his grip on his teacup tightens doesnât escape your attention, and you try to stifle in a smirk, unsure of sure how to react. You finally got back at him in a way, but youâre not entirely certain if itâs a good thing or a bad one.
â
A week has passed since you talked back to the Captain. Lucky you he didnât reprimand you forthwith, but not exactly lucky because his power tripping has only worsened since then. It took you another stable duty after dinner because of âstaying outside for too long, itâs almost curfewâ, as the Captain said, for you to finally realize youâve had enough of his bullshit and itâs about time you confront him in his office.
It might be past midnight for all you know, and the dead silence is eating up the corridors that you wonder for a brief moment if heâs still awake. Considering him, he most probably is.
Not even bothering with a knock, you set foot inside his study. As if to confirm your thoughts, your eyes immediately dart to his form sitting on his chair with paperwork. Even if itâs not all that bright inside his office with only a lone candle and the midnight moon serving as light, you quickly catch sight of his tired eyes and the bags darkening under them. Heâs loosened up like heâs up for an all-nighter, discarding the jacket and leaving his partially unbuttoned dress shirt on.
You knew it, he still hasnât rid himself of his bad habit that is overworking. It doesnât matter to you now, though. Maybe in the past you wouldâve given him a little scolding for it, but thatâs not even what youâre here for in the first place.
Remembering your sole purpose of being here, your glare hardens. You choose to stay infront of the door right after locking it for you donât know what you might do if you get close to him. Aggravated to the brim, you donât even bother putting up a soldier front and a half-assed salute.
âBarging in your superiorâs office in late hours past curfew without even stating your name and business, youâve got some guts,â he comments, extinguishing his table candlelight with a pinch of his fingers. The moment you laid your eyes on him with a prickly gaze, heâs already identified who you are and what youâre here for.
âCut me some slack, will you?â you complain bluntly, the clear disrespect in your voice ringing. Levi raises his head and takes note of your attire. Youâre on your nightwear, barefooted. Insane brat, he thinks. Youâre surely in for an informal visit. He cocks a brow and decides to listen to your rambling.
You take his silence as a sign to continue. âIâm surprised you can get so childish, Captain. Look at you, loads of paperwork on your table but still got nothing decent to do other than abuse your comrades,â you hiss despite having a difficult time creating eye contact thanks to the darkness.
In a flash, heâs made his way across the room and stopped just face to face with you, the glowing full moon casting abstract shadows over his raging expression.
âWhat the fuck are you going on about?â he fumes, fist slamming into the wooden door, locking you in place. Heâs slightly impressed you didnât so much as flinch.
But he couldnât bear it. Something about you visiting him in his office in the middle of the night ticks him off to ridiculous measures. It ignites a memory he detests.
His face is dangerously close, making you feel like youâre about to fall on your knees due to intimidation. You fight it back, refusing to show him youâre affected.
âOh nothing, just really delighted that my ex, who unfortunately happens to be the Captain, is exploiting his rank and commanding his subordinate to his wish,â you spit straight into his face, sarcasm laced gracefully in your tone. He has no right to be furious when youâre the one whoâs been suffering under his irrational commands.
âAre you complaining?â he asks. Youâd think heâs being oblivious if not for the fact that heâs currently towering over you, eyes as unreadable as ever.
âI didnât know you were one to hold a grudge against people who dumped you, Levi,â you frankly say, dropping the honorific. Youâre sick of beating around the bush, you just want answers. You see the pique brewing in his beautiful eyes.
âWhat do you really want? Is this because I left you?â you continue upon seeing him open his mouth. Youâre definitely pushing his buttons now, interrupting him when heâs about to speak. Thereâs a limit to how much you can rub him up the wrong way, but right now, youâre just as pissed as he is.
âYou were the one who wanted to be in a relationship. Youâre a grown woman, you should have known what you gotten yourself into,â he seethes, shutting you up for a couple moments. He actually confessed that it was all about the past?
You admit, you really were the one to make the first move way back. You initiated the motives, which makes it all the more reasonable for you to end it. Right?
âItâs because things werenât working out, Levi. You should know when and where to end things!â you argue. Thereâs no way in hell youâll let him have his way. You genuinely thought you ended things with him maturely.
âYou should have understood that I canât be with you all the time. I have important matters to attend to,â he says, looking straight into your eyes, fierce gaze burning into your soul. You fail to notice how your breath keeps hitching ever since he walked up to you. Your knees are slowly turning into jelly under his menace.
No, you canât waver. âHow irresponsible can you be? Picking a petty reason to end it even,â he adds.
âAlright, high and mighty Captain. Sorry I hurt that little ego of yours, but whatâs done is done, so can you stop being such a dick to me now?â you roll your eyes, not even the least sorry.
âFor the record, things were working out. Youâre just an impatient brat,â he adds calmly. A brat? Heâs the one acting like a kid here if anything!
âItâs all in the past! And that doesnât explain why youâre burning me to the ground with your punishments!â you complain, blood slowly curling as time passes.
âMaybe if you werenât a lazy little runt, slacking off just because you feel like it,â his eyes narrow, taking a step closer to push you back against the door.
âExcuse me? You keep ordering me around like some kind of slave, do you expect me to not drop dead?â you protest, beginning to see red. You reach out your hands to push him away. He was just too close, you didnât like it.
He beats you to it, grabbing both your wrists and pins them to the wall. Your eyes widen and you try to break free. He takes another step forward to fully immobilize you in place.
âI wonât be needing an impotent soldier who canât even do simple tasks. Iâm removing you from my squad,â he blurts out of nowhere, and you feel your heart drop for a second. This is what youâre talking about when you say heâs an exploitative piece of shit.
You gawp at him, not knowing what to say. Being in his squad for years and years, you know you deserve your spot there. But for him to remove you for little to no reason? Damn, you want to kill him and his irrationality so bad. To do that, first, you have to free yourself.
âFuck you,â are the only words you muster. Guess youâll have to pull the big guns after all.
You lean in, vigorously smashing your lips into his.
Warm.
Theyâre just as warm as you remember. Totally contrary to his cold personality, and you hate it. You hate how they feel like a princeâs lips straight from a fairy tale book, but in reality, they belong to a heartless devil. You hate him.
He didnât expect that in the least bit. But now that youâve done it, itâs like a dam has been broken free from within him. Something snaps inside you as well, and you arenât exactly sure how to deal with it other than to keep kissing him like youâve never did before.
His tongue enters your mouth and fights with your own, only to soon dominate it with ease. You try not to moan as you feel his body rubbing up against yours. He immediately notices youâre still reluctant when in fact, you went for it first. He sucks on your lower lip harshly, even going as far as biting on it just to force a sound out of you, to which you did. A girly squeal finally escapes your mouth, earning Levi a smirk.
No, this isnât what you intended. You just wanted to catch him off guard to be able to push him away. But now that heâs taken you on, you canât seem to stop. Maybe you missed this. Maybe you missed the way he tasted like a mix of tea and mint, or maybe you missed the way he claimed your lips like he owned it. But not even an inch of you wanted to admit that, not after all heâs made you go through.
You wriggle your wrists free, and thanks to the heated moment, his grip has weakened. You quickly push him away with the strength you have left and break the kiss.
âI fucking hate you,â you whisper breathlessly, panting for air.
âYouâd be surprised to know how I feel,â he breathes back before meeting your lips for another kiss with no secondâs rest.
You want to deny it. You want to deny him, but your body keeps saying otherwise. For one, your hands eagerly snake around his nape to pull him much closer. Your heart is racing and you couldnât think straight anymore. His hand lifts your right leg and you hug his waist with it. You couldnât register anything. All you know is that youâre growing hotter every second, your pussy beginning to drip from the sensation.
A small mewl you tried so hard to keep in escapes your mouth as he squeezes your bum tightly. He grinds on you, the friction of both your clothes annoying you in numerous methods. Itâs like everythingâs in the way.
Levi pulls away from the kiss, and the way you leaned in as if asking for more amuses him. âRelax,â he whispers smugly, hot breath brushing against your earlobe. Fuck him. You want to deny how much he affects you, how goosebumps raise on your skin with the shortest words.
His teasing lips graze your jawline in a featherlight manner, making you throw your head back in fervor. Your hands quickly crawl up to his hair, running your fingers along his raven locks, and you bring your body closer as he glides his lips down your neck intimately. Levi perceives your little gestures that proclaim how big his impact is to you, feeding his ego endlessly.
His free hand starts to roam your body, your choice of clothing making things convenient for him. From your thighs, his hand rises to your hips. You canât even explain the way you twitched when his fingers hovered above your crotch only to remove it right after. What a tease.
He then slips his hand underneath your tank top, finding out that you didnât even bother with a bra.
âArenât you a little slut, showing up past midnight in your nightwear and all,â he whispers teasingly, pinching your now erect nipple. He then fondles your breasts alternately, and you try to keep your noises to yourself.
âShut up, you asshole. This wasnât my intention,â you struggle to hiss back. He removes his hand from your chest and instead starts kissing your neck, gradually sucking and nipping on it to create a hickey. You wanted more of his touch but youâd rather have him eliminate you from the Corps than confess that.
He moves on to a new spot and does the same. The faint twinging pain does nothing but make you want for more. The addicting sensation drowning you, you let him mark your neck to his will. And he kept doing it, putting lovebites in the most visible spots ever, sucking until heâs sure as heck itâs going to last a pretty while.
You feel him smirk against your skin. Realization suddenly dawning upon you, you grab a fistful of his hair and pull them furiously. Shit! You want to curse yourself for figuring out too late. How will you face your comrades now?
âYou fucking dick!â you curse at him, aggressively tugging his hair with the intention to hurt him. âHow do you expect me to hide this now, you inconsiderate fuck!â You were yapping too much for his liking, and he wants to shut you up immediately.
Though your bottom is still fully clothed, Levi manages with a quick work of hand. He plunges two of his slender fingers into your wet hole, shutting you up in the most jarring way possible. Confirming his success, you cry out a moan of surprise. âToo loud,â he comments as he moves his hand in and out aggressively, making you lose your solid grip on his hair. Your tightness hugging his fingers just right, he mercilessly adds a third. You suddenly feel him hit your good spot, and you shudder for a second. His other hand lets go of your leg and starts to caress your breasts.
He watches you in satisfaction as you obviously fight back the urge to let yourself loose, head leaning back against the door for support. He feels the bulge inside his pants strain.
The way he has you wrapped around his finger irks you, and you desperately reach for his dick as an attempt to get back at him for making you feel helpless, but to no avail. He quickly catches your wrist and spins you until you faced the door. Your frail arm now held behind your back, you couldnât move an inch. Heck, you donât even stand a chance.
Content with having the upperhand, he shoves your face into the wooden door, cheek pressed flat. âIâll have you know whoâs in charge here, woman,â Levi growls, voice dangerously low to impose dominance.
You whimper at the position, fully paralyzed. Greedy fucker.
He violently pulls down your skimpy shorts along with your underwear. You squeal as he gives your ass a few good slaps to admire the reddened skin. Seeing your sex trickling with wetness, he wanted to engrave his mark on you so bad.
He then undoes his belt and zipper, leaving his trousers just below the waist. Relentlessly, he shoves his dick deep down you when you least expect it, leaving your pussy no chance to adjust to his big, engulfing size. The intoxicating mix of both sharp pain and pleasure forces a moan out your mouth so loud it might have woken up a few people.
He grabs the hair right at your scalp and pulls it. âFucking bitch, shut your mouth before I put it to good use,â he orders and you chuckle. âSorry Captain,â you answer, mocking him as he continues to buck his hips into you from behind. His initial pacing isnât at all that bad, but you still call him out just for the funsies. You try to peek at him though upheld in a restrained position, âThatâs it?â you challenge, same time wanting more for yourself.
He grits his teeth upon your insult, and without second thought, he slightly bends you over before ramming you up with his cock real hard and aggressive and you try to keep whatever dignity you have left inside you. Youâre silenced, having not expected him to take you on that quickly. His massive dick rubs at your walls as he pounds into you in a perfect angle. His hand crawls up to your jaw, squeezing it with his fingers to crack your mouth open assertively. Now you wanna shut up?
You hiss at him, muffling your groans in the process. You hate how it felt so goddamn good, youâre going crazier every passing second.
Meanwhile, Leviâs liking what he sees. You, completely helpless under his power, denying him with all your might when itâs achingly visible how youâre enjoying it like the little slut that you are. Look at you, struggling to put up a dismissive and unperturbed front. Hate isnât enough to describe what he feels for you.
Your free hand tries to clutch on the flat door, a desperate attempt to search something to hold on for dear life. The ravenhead mercilessly speeds up, fucking you to oblivion. Indulged in the moment, none of you get bothered by the rattling sound the door makes as you get banged up against its surface. The possibility of getting caught in action doesnât seem to concern you, nor the Captain himself. If anything, the adrenaline only adds up to the thrill.
You inevitably cry out a continuous string of moans, eyes rolling to the back of your head in pleasure. Sensing yourself nearing, you perk your ass up a little, meeting his thrusts halfway as if he didnât reach far enough. âFuck. More!â you demand, all intentions protecting your pride and dignity long gone. Screw holding back, maybe you really are an impatient brat.
To your surprise, he listens to your whims and quickens his motion. In less than no time, you feel a surge of gratification spread to your whole body. Your walls quiver around him uncontrollably as you wail out loud. That doesnât stop him from moving, prolonging your orgasm for more than your mind can handle.
âShit⌠Levi, stop!â you urgently beg, the feeling almost overbearing. You canât stop shaking and your pussy keeps pulsating like crazy. The bastard mercilessly lets on for a couple more seconds, before finally halting his thrusts. Feeling him pull out, you fall limp against the door, knees weakening due to the stimulation.
Levi catches your body and gives you a moment to recover. You pant, waiting for the high to wear down. Aware that youâre still a little sensitive, he lifts you up in his arms and maneuvers across the room.
âDonât think weâre done yet,â he says, deadpanned. You badly want to give him a glare but havenât regained enough energy to do so. You feel him place you atop a desk, your legs hanging. With half lidded eyes, you look at him and sling an arm around his neck. He stood infront of you, mysterious steel grey eyes looking straight back at your own and you earn the guts to go for a kiss.
The kiss is wet and messy. Mindless tongues in a battle of sparring, random sucking on each otherâs lips. Pausing briefly to get sucked into his hypnotizing eyes. Shallow smacks here and there, pulling away shortly to steady your breathing.
You swear, the lingering moment felt like a fever dream for unknown reasons.
It doesnât take him long before he lets his hand travel your body again, the feel of his cold fingertips electrifying your for a second. Though youâve done this with him a few times before, he never fails to send the most intense shivers up and down your spine with the bare minimum touch. You know for a fact that heâs never went this hard on you as far as you remember, and you should probably hate yourself for liking it.
He slowly lifts your top breaking the kiss in the process. Discarding the hindrance, he throws it on the floor. Your breasts now dangling free in his sight, he switches attention and starts suckling on your nipple, his hand pinching the other. Your hand dives into his neat hair, greedily asking for more as you shove his face into your chest.
As if you werenât dripping enough, you feel your sex throb and leak from below. You want more, you want to see more of him.
Levi feels you reach for his torso and tears away from his business. âEmbarrassed?â you ask, teasing him. He only gives you an uninterested scowl, but lets you undress him to your wish. You finish unbuttoning his shirt, carelessly dropping the garment, and immediately make a feel for his perfectly chiseled abs. Thereâs absolutely no denying how heâs still hot as ever. Even when the clothes are ditched and all.
You look at him with sultry eyes, and instantaneously, you both slam your lips into one another, this time, deep and aggressive. âYou will not kick me out,â you demand in between the lip locking.
âAnd what? Keep a freeloader in?â he snides, forcing his whole length into your fuckhole once again, pulling a tiny noise of surprise from you.
You throw one arm around his neck, the other propped on the desk for support. He relentlessly feeds your sex with his cock, desk starting to rattle from the harsh motions. His thrusts are deep and unyielding, the muscles on the side of his bare ass clenching as he buck his hips, you swear you could feel him reach the end of your cavern.
âGo ahead and tell that to my statistics,â you spit matter-of-factly. Indeed, you have an impressive number of kills and assists, and because he couldnât deny that, itâs getting on his nerves.
His pounds speed up as if it wasnât in its limits already, and begins to sting a little in a pleasant way. Your breath catches in your throat as he wraps his hand around your neck, gently caressing with his thumb the purplish spots he made earlier. âGetting a little proud there, arenât we? If it werenât for me, youâd be dead ten times over.â He squeezes the sides of your airway, denying you of both the chance to speak and breathe. Your vision blurs as tears pool collectively due to the lack of air. Maybe itâs the added up thrill that prevented you from waving him away, but you stay submissive like a well-trained dog. A smirk forms in his soft lips that only lingers for a split second, you wouldâve missed it if you werenât paying attention.
Levi lets go of your neck and you turn into a coughing fit, desperately catching your breath. You regret letting him imprint his ownership on you, seeing him make an evil face. But you donât even have the chance the complain when you feel him fiddle with your aching clit. Your body twitches in shock. âAhâ!â
The stimulation of having him fucking your cunt and circling your clit is driving you to the brink of sanity. Youâre unable to hear him grunt occasionally as you gradually become a moaning mess yourself.
The sounds of sweaty skin slapping into skin, raspy breaths and guttural noises cover the whole room. Things are falling to the ground but none of you give a ratâs ass. The telltale signs of your upcoming orgasm start to show itself by the way your body shudders every once in a while, gasps shallowing and eyes losing focus.
You finally explode and fall back, shaking uncontrollably around his erection. Overwhelming waves of pleasure render you mute when he keeps ramming into you unforgivably. Your body weakens, eyes turning white and you couldnât register anything.
Your trembling wears down after a moment, and you donât realize him pull away as if you were unconscious. You wanted to curse him for once again overdoing your orgasm you couldnât move an inch.
Assuming thatâs it for tonight, he pulls up his pants and does the zipper and clasp. He pays you no attention as you try and regain your energy. Even after all, he still hasnât wavered, still fully decided to remove you from his squad. He canât let someone like you stay under his custody. Thereâs no taming you.
Finished recovering, you glare at him and grab his wrist whilst heâs in the middle of dressing up, dragging him around the desk only to push him down to his chair. You know him well. You know he havenât changed his mind, and youâll have to go through measures to shake him. âWhat the fuck are you doing?â It wasnât a question but an order.
So far, you came two times already, him completely overlooking giving you pleasure and instead makes it some sort of punishment. A part of you kept saying you should return the favor. âIâm done with a man like you being in control,â you hiss before dropping to your knees and pulling down his halfway dressed trousers. Your hands sit on his thighs as you bring your face near the tip of his thick, veiny penis.
This was surely some sort of payback to you that he should stop right now, but canât bring himself to do so.
Your eyes are now that of mock innocence, locked on his own burning ones as he stares you down. You wrap your fingers around his impressively still fully erect sex, stroking it lightly from base to tip. Giving a few brief kisses, you run your tongue along the tip, leaking of precum. The salty taste is somehow addicting, and you find yourself looking for more.
âYouâre enjoying this,â he scrutinizes and you hum in response. You lick his length, saliva covering his intimate skin, later deliberately missing the tip. The way his breath hitches for a split second feeds your desire. Of course, anything that would drive him crazy and on the edge of his seat is entertainment to you.
Slowly take his member inside your mouth, you gradually eat up the whole of his size. Shallow at first, deep the next. Your sopping folds inflame with lust as you observe his every reaction, never breaking eye contact.
When you start to settle with a normal pacing, he lets himself loose for once and relaxes his tensed shoulders. He leans back on the chair, one hand on the armrest and one on top of your head for guidance just incase you decide to bitch around and tease him. He rests his head on the top rail, allowing himself to indulge in the pleasure that you bring.
âWant my dick that bad, huh?â Levi comments as you continue to pump your wet mouth back and forth. Unfortunately, you donât have the luxury to answer back and instead reply with a moan, the vibration sending him chills. An involuntary groan leaves his lips and youâre satisfied once again.
The moonlight right behind him gives your pretty face a sheen that did nothing but turn him on. The sight of you bobbing your head is tantalizing him, your cheeks deformed by his cock, swollen lips outstretched, and your hungry eyes only add up. Shit, you were good.
You speed up, taking him in fully until it hit the back of your throat. His massiveness isnât something you could push aside, and you fight back the aching gag reflex, letting on for a couple more seconds. His hand also thrusting your head deeper, it doesnât take long until he comes. Leviâs hips shudders upwards by a wave of ecstasy, his load wildly spurting into your mouth. To his surprise, you fully and willingly swallow his seed swathing the tip clean with a smile, and a guttural grunt escapes his lips. You were like an obedient girl kneeling down as you looked up at him. Fuck, heâs so turned on, thereâs no stopping now
Levi then wordlessly picks you up in utter ease, and you yelp. He takes long strides across the room and opens the door that connects to his personal bedroom. Finally fucking in a bed, huh? âTook you long enough,â you giggle shortly before he drops you on the ridiculously soft mattress. You lie back and enjoy the comfort a Captainâs bed brings. The luxury of being in a higher rank, is it?
When he crawls on the sheets but doesnât bother to climb face to face with you, youâre taken aback. He settles his face just above your crotch and dives in. Eyes widening you ask him, âWhat are youâAh!â your voice jumps an octave high as he runs his tongue in between your slit. Thereâs no denying youâre still irrepressibly sensitive, yet heâs already jabbing his tongue at you.
âFuck, Levi, I swear toââ once again, youâre silenced when he inserts two fingers inside your soaking cunt while simultaneously flicking his tongue on your engorged clit.
You squeak, one hand flying to tread his hair while the other crumpling the neatly done sheets. Your thighs attempt to close in reflex, but before you could do so, Levi immediately senses your movements and slings one arm around both your legs to lock you in place singlehandedly.
When you peer at him, you find his lionlike gaze looking up straight at you, fierce and dangerous.
As he laps you up like a man hungry, your head whips from side to side, unknowing of what to do. Heâs driving you crazy with the perfect rhythm and speed, spot even. He knows just where to focus and what to do, youâre left elated. His fingers rubbing in an angle so good itâs hitting you in all the right places. Youâre a complete mess, rolling your hips forward, asking for more, squirming while moaning his name and swearing to your desire.
âPlease!â you beg as you grind into his mouth in desperation. Youâre almost there, body only waiting for that one last trigger and youâll be gone. The pleasure inside you keeps building, stacking up with every flick of his wet tongue, heat spreading all throughout your limbs. Shit, you love it. You love him!
Fuck, no, I donât!
You donât know whatâs with the way he works on your clit and rams into your folds that your mind is now being clouded with senseless thoughts. Yes, thatâs it. Heâs fucking you senseless that you donât even know what youâre thinking. Hypnotized, you chant, âFuck, make me come, eat me, love me, donât stop!â
Leviâs not sure if he heard you right, but nevertheless, gladly follows your frustrated whines. He pulls your throbbing cunt tighter into his face and with unrelenting speed, your release is triggered. Your eyeballs roll heavenwards as you convulse uncontrollably, walls pulsating to no end. The shuddering intensity takes over you, small bits of white liquid oozing out your pussy.
Levi sweeps his tongue over your slick sex to clean you like a cat, your sweet nectar lining on his tongue. Your body jerks upon feeling his pink muscle touch your sensitive area again.
Youâre gasping and panting to catch your breath. Youâre almost unconscious but damn you wanted him to fill you up. Levi sits up and only observes you, waiting for you to be knocked out cold.
You prop yourself on your elbows. âFuck me,â you plead of him one last time, baffling him of how almost unshakable you are, eyes ever daring and fierce. He was sure youâve had enough rounds ago, and the tiredness in your eyes is starting to reveal itself. But something else is in there, he couldnât entirely tell but he has a clue.
You could say itâs less for the lustful gratification now, more for the intimacy. Youâve never felt so greedy your whole life than this very moment. You wantâ no, need more of him, itâs crazy.
Romantic, you think as he positions himself on top of you. He angles his hips into your entrance and starts moving.
You grab the chance to observe his facial features. His jawline is sharply defined as if that of a god, lips alluringly kissable, nose thin and narrow, eyebrows in but an endless furrow, and slate eyes brewing an emotion so vehement you can feel it deep inside your bones.
He leans in just a little, his hot breath ghosting over your ear lobe, sending shivers up and down your spine. You couldnât understand well what youâre feeling, but it certainly isnât good. You feel more aroused and impatient, begging for more. Levi immediately picks up on your actions and happily gives you what you want.
The beautiful mix of both your heavy breathing engulfs the room like a song, and you wish you could savor the moment a little longer. Heâs much gentler now, probably considering the fact that youâre visibly exhausted. You wonder for a brief moment why he still took your request on.
His thrusts are soft and passionately slow, but still covers all the space in your depth, almost like lovemaking. How did it even turn into this? More importantly, why is it that your heart flutters at a time like this? You force yourself to bury the thoughts to the back of your head.
âLeviâŚâ you call, utterly weak and no more than a whisper. Youâre not about to come for the fourth time around or youâll drop dead. You reach for his neck and hug him as you feel him struggling to catch his breath. Heâs nearing, thatâs for sure. Clinging onto him, Levi comes not long after with a groan and immediately pulls out, releasing his load on your stomach.
He makes haste for a towel, missing out on how you doze off, completely incapacitated. He shakes his head after seeing you dead beat on his bed, finally reaching your limits. He wipes your abdomen clean before dressing up heading back to his office to sleep.
â
You jolt awake after a couple minutes and find yourself alone, tucked in the covers. You immediately recall everything and make a beeline for the door but suddenly feel a sting in between your thighs, your knees weakening not helping at all. Your body cramps up as well and you fall to the ground, creathing a thudding noise. You try to stifle in a whimper.
Despite being spent, itâs enough to stir levi awake. He rises from his chair where he slept to give you space, and heads for his bedroom. His eyes immediately dart onto your form. Youâre currently seeking support from the wall with your hand to keep yourself steady. Your knees are nothing but jelly and itâs no good. You donât realize that the Captain is awake and staring at you until he calls you out.
âTch,â you hear him click his tongue and you almost jump. âWhere the hell do you think youâre going?â he quizzes, voice low and authoritative.
âObviously leaving, what do you think?â you roll your eyes and attempt to take a step but the pain doesnât let you move even a mere inch. Levi catches on your situation in a jiffy. You are awfully sore and out of strength. Well, thereâs no denying itâs because of him. He went hard on you after all.
He sighs before quietly closing the distance to sweep you up from your feet. You squeal at the sudden movement, but donât so much as protest. True enough, you latch onto him for dear life, the pain of the soreness subsiding as youâre lifted. His hold is firm, telling you clearly that he has no intentions of letting you go.
âIf youâre so desperate, just leave first thing in the morning. But stay for the night. Canât have you passing out in the halls from the pain,â he says nonchalantly. You couldnât help but roll your eyes again in annoyance, mostly because of your heart fluttering unwantedly.
âIâm not someone you should baby, Levi. Cut it off,â you counter and try to wriggle free as he heads back to the bed with you in his arms.
âFor once, learn to follow orders without whining, will you?â he scoffs. You talkback, âOrders? Werenât you about to remove me? I have no obligations to follow you now.â
âNot anymore.â Your eyes widen in confusion. What? Really?
âWhy?â
âJust because.â
He settles you on the inner side of the bed carefully like youâre bound to break anytime now. The subtle gesture doesnât slip past your notice, making your cheeks flush an embarrassing color. What is going on with you? Itâs not like itâs your first time sleeping with him.
âYou sleep here,â he orders curtly as you avert your gaze to try and hide your heated cheeks, but to no avail. Although his face is still as stoic as ever, you can hear the smugness in his tone as he suggests, âIâll sleep in my office.â
It actually astounds him how you can get so flushed by the idea of spending the night with him, as if you didnât just do a variety of lewd things a while ago. Oh well, being the chivalrous man that he is, he respects your choices.
Before he can take a step more, you quickly look at him as he turns his back to you and grab his wrist.
âWhat am I, a schoolgirl? I can handle a grumpy old man sleeping beside me,â you inform, flushed cheeks long gone. Confidence rings in your voice once again like the headstrong woman you are. It doesnât stop your heart from booming in your ribcage like itâs about to jump out, though, no matter how much you want to silence it.
Levi eyes you for a second then gives up, sighing and laying beside you. He doesnât bother asking for a share of the blanket, letting you wrap yourself to your will. Besides, youâre still nude and naked under it.
From your peripheral vision, you see him close his eyes and ready himself to sleep.
âJust so you know, Iâm sore and cramping to death,â you quickly inform before he could drift away.
Thereâs a short period of silence and you think that heâs already asleep or deliberately ignoring you. You roll your eyes. Still a damn dick.
You hear him grunt in annoyance. âOff duty tomorrow,â he only says in defeat, earning you a victorious smile.
Hello there! I hope youâve been well. This is my first fanfic that I have posted. Feel free to leave feedback or let me know if Iâve missed any tags.Â
This more of a slight yandere fic, let me know if you would like a part 2 that goes more in depth âş
Warnings: Dark themes, Yandere themes, manipulation, Death (other characters - not explicit)
You first caught Leviâs attention when you were placed in his squad under the recommendation of commander Erwin. You were breathtaking. Your eyes held the sparkle of hope for the future as Erwin spoke, but also held the glaze of the harsh reality that was present. This look capturing Leviâs initial interest. Under the excuse of being a new member in his squad, Levi scheduled to test your ODM capabilities and your skill in hand-to-hand combat.Â
Surprising him, your ODM work was exceptional, close to matching his skill and ability in efficient and effective manoeuvres, your hand-to-hand combat however was reasonably average. Oluo a member of your squad, noticing and offering to assist in training your skills up. The offer being followed by a smirk and wiggle of the man's eyebrows before he accidentally bit his tongue. While this made you chuckle, you didnât see the unimpressed look from the captain behind you. The idea of you touching another man, or having another man touch you to âfixâ your form, left Levi with an uncomfortable feeling in his stomach.Â
To settle this feeling, Levi organised to have separate one-on-one training sessions to increase your abilities in that field, stating that he wanted to ensure your form was perfect by his standards. These individual sessions allowed time for his budding obsession and possession to further grow. Your determination continually impressing him.
Outside of training, Levi was particularly impressed by your cleaning and your ability to brew a good cup of tea. Enough so, that he requested that you make his evening cup of tea for him each night while he does paperwork.Â
While everyone was instructed to clean the HQ, he would often call for your assistance in cleaning his office under the guise of needing to complete assigned paperwork from Erwin. These cleaning sessions often resulted in Levi attempting to start casual chatter to gain more information on you. You indulging him without realising his affections.
Leviâs obsession truly blossoms however after an expedition that left you temporarily MIA after your squad got overrun by a group of abnormal titans. Â
Levi frantically searching for your face among the bodies of your fallen squad members.Â
After searching through the faces of his fallen soldiers, Levi was left at a loss. Angered how the universe had stolen another being he had begun to grow feelings for. Another name and face to add to the pile of friends and family he had lost.Â
This anger left Levi to spiral and obliterate many of the abnormal titans that had caused the fall of his squad. Especially, the fall of you.Â
As Levi attacked many of the remaining titans, a small group of titans huddled around a tree had caught his attention. There you stood, injured, but alive and breathing, just out of their grasp. Levi zipping towards you on his ODM gear, to ensure you would be safe. As he got closer, he saw the true extent of your injuries. It becoming apparent how you risked your own safety in attempting to save your squad members, your ODM expertise being one of the only things that saved you from the beasts below.Â
From that moment, Levi decided that that was your last time venturing outside the walls, and he would take the measures himself to ensure that that was true. He wouldnât let the universe take away another person he cared about.

Outside the walls when you were on missions had always been something that Levi had found both pleasing and anxiety-inducing, but it reminded him that even in these times it was possible to find solace in things that might be scary.
You rode next to him on your horse, keeping up with his pace no problem. Your team was to clear out as many Titans in the area as you could to try and deplete their population. You looked at peace as the wind blew through your h/c hair. Levi would never understand why he couldnât get the courage to just tell you how he felt. He was the great Captain Levi after all, he was humanityâs strongest. It shouldnât be that daunting of a task for him.
A swarm of Titans stood in front of you and without hesitation you soared through the air, taking them down with as much ease as Levi himself would have had. Anyone could tell who had taught you everything you knew. Soldiers soared everywhere around you, blades piercing flesh, Titan after Titan hitting the ground.
After what seemed like hours of riding around a green smoke signal shown for all the soldiers in the sky. You all stopped what you were doing and looked around at each other. Commander Erwin must have felt like enough have been taken down for the day.
Levi rode over to you and stopped as he reached you. âGood work L/N. Letâs head back to the gates.â His heart fluttered every time he talked to you. This had to be the day, he had to tell you, he just couldnât take it anymore.
You smiled at him. âThank you, Captain Levi.â
You both turned your horses around and all the soldiers headed for the walls.
* * * * * *
When the soldiers were all safely back through the walls and the horses were taken care of everyone met at headquarters, enjoying some food and beer, along with the occasional hook up between the soldiers.
Levi sat at the desk in his office, he had sent the mad scientist, Zoe Hange, down to the common area to retrieve you. You had quietly knocked on the door a couple of seconds later. âCome in, itâs open.â
When you walked through the door his heart stopped. You had always been stunning to him, it made him feel like you were out of his league. When you werenât on the field you referred to him in a friendly manner rather than the formal Captain Levi title. âHey Levi, you wanted to see me?â
Levi stood from his desk and walked toward you. âUh, yea, I wanted to talk to you about something.â Levi could feel his heart beating fast against his chest.
You walked to the couch on the wall across from his desk and made yourself at home like you had so many times before. âWhatâs up?â
Levi held a hand out to you. âStand back up, this is important.â You looked a little nervous but did what he said. âI donât know how to say this without it coming off as weird. Iâve been trying to tell you this for months, Iâve just never found the right time to do it.â
You looked even more confused now. âJust spit it out Levi, I couldnât think youâre any weirder than I already think you are.â
Levi scoffed. âComing from you.â He crossed his arms and smirked at you.
âThatâs cold Ackerman.â You chuckled.
He stood there in silence for a minute before speaking again. âIâve been afraid to tell you this for some time now, afraid that it would affect our friendship, but I canât hold it in anymore Y/N.â Levi put a hand on each side of your face and stared into your eyes. âIâm so in love with you, Y/N.â
There was a look of shock on your face but you didnât move. A smile began to spread and you opened your mouth to speak, but Levi put his finger up to stop you. âLet me do something first.â Levi put his lips to yours and you met his movements. The butterflies in his stomach were incomparable at this moment.
You smiled when he pulled away. You put a hand on his chest and put your head on his shoulder. âIt took you long enough Levi.â He drew in a harsh breath as you continued. âI love you too.â You put your hand on the back of his neck and pulled his face down to yours again, wanting to feel his lips on your own one more time.

- It probably wouldnât even be planned
- Youâd probably just randomly blurt it out in the middle of a conversation
- Allow me to set the setting
- You guys would be in his office
- Heâd be sitting at his desk, doing the paperwork Erwin assigned
- Youâd be on the small sofa across the room, reading a book
- Youâve been thinking about telling him for the past few months, but you didnât know howâd he react
- You didnât want to lose him, so you kept quiet
- It started eating at you recently though
- I mean, he deserves to know
- You kept glancing over at him
- He had his eyes glued on his papers as he rapidly signed and filled out each paper, trying to get it done as soon as possible
- You felt anxious, you didnât quite know why
- You didnât even plan on telling him yet, what would you be nervous about?
- Then it hit you
- Word vomit.
-Â âLevi?â
- Heâd look over at you, clearly annoyed
-Â âWhat, brat?â
-Â âI-Iâm bisexual,â
- He looked a little shocked at first, but then his face softened
-Â âAlright,â
-Â âYouâre not mad?â
-Â âI have no reason to be, you can love who you want to love,â heâd shrug
- He would then resume paying all of his attention towards his paperwork
-----
Jean
---
- Youâve been planning to tell Jean for a while now
- You were extremely nervous heâd break up with you
- Youâve been rehearsing what you wanted to say back for a while now
- You didnât know if you wanted to stall the conversation or just be straight forward
- You decided to just be straight forward, and if he couldnât accept your sexuality, he wasnât good enough for you anyway
- However, that still didnât stop the nerves
- Yes, you wouldnât date a homophobic person
- But itâs not like it wouldnât hurt you if he didnât accept you
- Anyway
- It was a normal day, but it was after training
- However, Jean, Eren, and you had stable duty after training, so you didnât have time to relax for the rest of the day
- Eren and Jean got into a fight, and you got involved to try to stop it, but all three of you guys ended up getting stable duty
- You were sweeping up hay in the stables while Jean was brushing a horse
- Eren was outside, cleaning the windows
- You couldnât wait to tell him
- It wasnât a word vomit, but you just calmly let it slip
-Â âHey, Jean, can I tell you something?â
-Â âSure,â
- You took a deep breath and glanced at him
-Â âIâm bisexual,â
- He paused and looked at you
- You guys locked eye-contact and you felt your heart speed up from the nerves as you waited for his response
-Â âOh, alright, thatâs all?â
-Â âY-Yeah...youâre not mad?â
- He shrugged
-Â âWhy would I be?â
-Â âO-Oh, alright,â

Reiner
---
- Similar to Levi, you never initially planned to tell him
- It kind of came out as a word vomit as well
- I mean, youâve been thinking about it a lot lately, but you didnât want to tell him yet
- It was only natural for you to be afraid of his reaction since you loved him so much
- The thought has really been distracting you lately, no one knew about your sexuality yet and you didnât want to accidentally tell anyone, especially Reiner
- It was really distracting you during training, which Reiner noticed and was kind of worried
- After training, you began walking to the mess hall for dinner, Reiner walked beside you and just looked at you with a puzzled look
You were casually walking through the halls, trying to fight the grin that wanted to show on your face. You did something that you didn't expect you would do especially to HIM. While you were thinking of the face heâll make, you accidentally bumped into a certain blonde-haired kid. Out of shock, you fell down on your butt.
âS-sorry Squad Leader (l/n), I didn't see you there.â He said, his eyes slightly widening. He was shaking and was sweating a little when you didn't speak up. You were a little hurt from what he said because you were short. And by short, I mean shorter than Lance Corporal short. He saluted but you just brushed it off, standing while wiping the invisible dust off your butt.
You chuckled a little and put a hand on the kidâs shoulder. âChill down Cadet Arlert. No harm done.â You said smiling at him. He blushed and you just couldn't help but squeeze his cheeks. âYouâre just too cute Armin.â You chuckled when his face was as red as a tomato and ruffled his hair.
When you were about to pass by him, he spoke up. âUh⌠S-squad Leader (l/n), Heichou said that he wanted to see youâŚâ You grinned at him. You were thinking of possible ways to escape but you were interrupted when Armin coughed awkwardly.
âSorry Arlert but you may go now.â You said. He looked at the floor and you just couldn't stop the thought of being him too cute for his age⌠again.
âB-but Squad L-leader, Heichou said that he wanted me to drop you off to his office⌠Muttering something along the lines of you trying to escape.â
âSo now his thinking.â You said to yourself. The boy looked at you, utterly confused. âWhoops. Didn't mean to say that out loud. Ehehe.â You rubbed the back of your neck. âAnyway⌠lead the way cadet.â You smiled at him brightly. He nodded at you and made his way to the Corporalâs office.
You then followed him towards Leviâs room, knowing that if you didn't, the poor boy might get beaten up just because he didn't âaccomplishâ his duty. You were about to waltz in but you stopped yourself and knocked on the door.
âState your name and business.â The monotone voice said from the other side of the door.
âItâs Squad Leader (l/n) andâŚâ You were interrupted when he ordered you to come in.
Once you opened the door, you saw the raven-haired man sitting on his chair behind the desk with his arms crossed above his chest, practically glaring at you. Both you and Armin saluted, though you gave him an innocent smile. His glare got more intense and you just couldn't stop grinning.
âCadet Arlert.â He said âYouâre dismissed.â
âHai!â he proceeded to walk towards the door then closing it behind him, leaving you with short stack⌠not that you were taller than him.
âWhat is it si--?â
âCut off the crap (f/n), you know why I called you here.â You smiled at him innocently but you were getting nervous. Even though your face wasn't betraying you, your gestures were. You were fiddling with your fingers and were rocking yourself back and forth with the balls of your feet. âSit.â He commanded you. Slowly, you went towards the chair in front of his desk and took a sit.
âWhyâd you steal my bleach?!â he bluntly asked. You had to fight the urge to laugh with that question.
âWhat do you mean Levi?â You asked him innocently. You asked yourself on how you gained the courage but your courage was cut short when the corporal trapped you in your seat. âDamn your fast.â You smiled at him and gave him the puppy dog eyes, wishing heâd fall for it but unfortunately he's not that gullible.
You felt your face heat up and in instinct, you moved backward, your back resting on the seatâs back. You could smell his scent and feel his breath on your face. You swore your face was as red as a tomato⌠even redder than the tomato itself. He bent forward, his mouth slightly touching yours. You close your eyes but opened them when he still didn't make a move.
Suddenly, two hands were on both side of your waist, tickling you for dear life. You let out continuous laughter and your stomach began to hurt. Â You were beginning to pant but Levi still kept on tickling you.
âAdmit it. You stole my bleach and hid it somewhere.â He said in his usual monotone voice but he was smiling despite his tone. He was definitely enjoying this.
âIâdonât-- adâmitâanyâthing!â You were already panting and Levi wasnât even in the point where he would stop tickling you. After a few more minutes, you couldn't help it and you surrendered. He stopped tickling you and smirked, knowing that he won. âThe bleach is hidden in Hanjiâs room.â You said once you regained your breath.
When you were about to stand up, Levi pushed you on the shoulders. You lost your balance and fell on the chair. âDid I say that you could go Squad Leader (l/n)?â Levi asked, but it was more of a statement.
âNo Heichou.â You said in a mere whisper. His lips were centimeters away from yours and you were losing your patience because of all the teasing from the start. With that you closed the space between both of you and put your arms around his neck.
Levi was surprised by your action; even you were surprised since it was the first time that you were the one who moved first. You felt yourself blush but still continued kissing him. After a while he kissed you back.
He made you stand up and put his right hand on your waist while the other was at your back pulling you closer. When you felt yourself lose oxygen, you pulled away from the kiss and regained your breath. He put his forehead on top of yours and lightly kissed you on the nose.
âI should really hide your cleaning supplies more often.â You said and he smiled. He chuckled and you grinned, not used to hearing him chuckle and smile.
âThat reminds me⌠your cleaning the stables for a week.â  You sighed. Well, no use for retorting.
âFine.â You were about to head out but before you could reach the door, you stopped midway. âYou still have to find your duster.â And with that you ran away for dear life.
summary: a misplaced table and a pair of hands that had a knack for good tea; you wonder what brought Humanityâs Strongest to your shop.

part II
âIâll have one flat white,â a customer says as she picks money from her coin purse. You give her a smile after receiving her payment, the exact amount saving you the task of calculating change.
âComing right up.â And you make your way to the coffee beans to make the blend she ordered. She watches in patience as you skillfully maneuver around the counter, getting everything done along the process. You incline the porcelain a little to make for the finishing art, steamed milk piercing through the coffee and creating a signature shape. In no time, you hand her the drink on top of a saucer.
She silently nods as brief thanks, and as soon as she turns her back to you, you dart your eyes on a table of one by the far right windowpane. You carefully spectate her and what direction sheâs going. Sheâs going to the table!
The make-do suspense keeps you on your toes as you look at her intently, breath slightly hitching, waiting for her to sit on the lone chair. The woman navigates across the room, heading straight for your wishful desires. Your hands fly to your mouth in shock, witnessing the life-changing moment unravel before your eyes. No way. She really is.
The cup of coffee on her left hand, she uses her right to move the chair to take a seat. But just when sheâs about to pull it back, someone calls her from another table, waving at her excitedly.
You stand upright and alert while your scrutinizing gaze follow her movements. She looks at where the voice is coming from, and almost immediately, her face brightens upon seeing who. Her right hand lets go of the wooden furniture and proceeds to where the caller sits. You look at her destination and find three people on a table of four. It doesnât take long before she takes the free seat and starts chatting with them.
Your body slumps back with a disappointed sigh. Looks like no oneâs sitting there yet again.
Itâs the closest call youâve ever had after years of this shopâs existence. Why no one chooses to sit there is beyond you. Either your customers are not alone, or they are, but only to take out their orders. Actually, even if theyâre alone, theyâd take the table for two instead. Do they not want to look lonely that bad? You groan in annoyance.
The table consists of a small, circular table and a single chair by the window. In your mightiest opinion, itâs the perfect place to just sit down, enjoy a cup of hot coffee, and read a book. But nobodyâs ever done that through the passing years, and you can only witness the table being neglected by people.
It irks you a little. Could there have been another way to maximize the space that stemmed from unproportional construction? Maybe it really is time to remove those. Maybe itâs not really a big deal.
Youâve been contemplating too many times replacing it with a plant vase or a decorative ornament to take up the space since itâs of no use anyway. But something just tells you you shouldnât. Besides, just thinking thinking about feels costly.
The rest of the day goes by quickly, and before you know it, youâve opened the store again, serving customers after customers. This time, you never gave the table another glance. Surprisingly enough, you spent the whole night debating with yourself on what decoration you should fill the space with. A nice bookshelf wouldâve been good, but you decided to go with a monstera plant to make use of the window right by it. Not until your day off, though, which is still on Sunday.
Having consecutively served around six customers and cleaned used tables, you sit and take a breather, resting your eyes by reading a book to let a couple minutes go by.
You slowly get sucked into the story, the marvelous art of prose bringing you into the plotâs little universe. The way the writer used the most fitting descriptive words possible astounds you, making a smile of enjoyment involuntarily creep up your lips. Somehow, you think writing is similar to making coffee, mixing different elements to create the perfect blend, the sole goal of making an exquisite taste that will leave people aching for more? Oh, and they both smell good, books and coffee. A chuckle leaves your lips.
Just when youâre deep in thought, things starting to stir up in the narration, someone speaks in front of you.
âOne black tea,â a stern voice curtly orders, interrupting your peace. Harshly brought back to reality, you rise to your feet to resume to work. First tea of the day, huh?
Sure, your shop is known for its good coffee, but your tea can put up for a competition, too. Itâs just that these days, coffee is more on the popular side, since tea can be made in almost any household now.
You close your book to attend to the customer, but not without leaving a bookmark on the current page. When you look at him, you almost freeze in your tracks. Well if it isnât Humanityâs Strongest himself!
A pair of dazing stale eyes bore into your own with an unreadable expression and you compose yourself. Crap, you must have been caught giggling to yourself. You feel heat speedily cover your cheeks, turning you to a blushing mess. How shameful.
âPardon me,â you excuse, clearing your throat before telling him the price. He wordlessly fishes for his wallet and pays. He does find you a bit weird, laughing at nothing, but pays it no more mind. Heâs supposed to be on leisure, not meddling with some bratâs uncanny actions.
As you turn your back to make his beverage, you squint your eyes in loss of face. It really is the Captain Levi, and you probably looked like a creep in his eyes. Now what will become of your shopâs repute?
You shove the thought to the back of your head and start working. The ravenhead watches back as you work your hands into making a, hopefully, good blend. Your heart is beating wildly inside your chest like itâs about to jump off your rib cage, but you try to ignore it. The thought of a widely known persona such as him inside your very shop is crazy. To what do you even owe this pleasure?
Oh well, youâll just pour your heart into making his tea, that way you might erase his ridiculous impression of you in his head. Hey! Whatâs so bad about giggling while reading? your subconscious tries to defend while you strain the boiled tea leaves into a clean china. The earthly smell hits your nose, making you want one, too.
You smile as you hand over the teacup. âThank you for your service,â you add, even going as far as bowing. The moment the phrase escapes your lips, you regret it right away. Chills shoot up your spine. It sounds so awkward and unnecessary, but should you just treat the Captain like any other people knowing heâs done so much for your country?
Your cheeks flush into a faint, pink color. Thankfully, youâre slightly angled downwards, he might not see. Levi only eyes you for a second before nodding and taking the cup of tea in his hands, his calloused fingers grazing your hands fleetingly.
When you hear his footsteps fade, you rise and rub a palm against your face. You hesitantly take a glance toward the Captain, and shock takes over your whole system. To be totally honest, you never thought youâd see the day someone would sit on that table.
He looks perfectly placed on the table, like itâs reserved a long time just for him. Heâs in civillian clothes, probably to not attract a lot of people. The sunlight gives his face a pretty sheen, the air from the window blowing lightly on his dark fringes. Your heart continues to skip several beats for no clear reason. Maybe that is the reason why your instincts keep telling you to not replace it.
Meanwhile, Levi sips on the freshly brewed tea, the strong flavor staining on his tongue just right. As he occupies his mind somehwere else, the taste hits better. Everything feels evenly distributed, the base smooth and pleasant, the amount of water not brimming. The temperature isnât so bad as well.
Then and there, he guesses you source fine leaves from the innermost walls, which is a luxury at this point, not to mention your non-overpriced charge.
Not bad, he thinks.
Youâre dumbstruck as you sit back in awe. You werenât able to decipher what heâs thinking, but you know for sure he doesnât hate it from seeing that he emptied the whole thing and left a generous tip.
You grab your tray and proceed to cleaning up the table he previously seated on, the whole decision of shopping for a plant on Sunday going down the drain.
â
Itâs been a whole month since the Captainâs visit, and you think of the once in a lifetime moment often, and at times randomly. You sure as heck wonât be removing the table now that something has happened.
âThank you,â you say as you hand the cup of coffee, serving the last one for the queue. Itâs a late, cloudy afternoon, looking like itâs about to shower, and the shop is pretty dull. Well, that only means you can read more.
âIs this the shop they say sells well?â you hear someone from the ordering area. âYeah, you go ahead,â they converse. Youâre making coffee for yourself at the moment and you canât peer to look at whose voice it is.
âWhat? You do it!â
âJust go! We donât have time!â
âWhat the fuck? Youâre the one holding the knife, arenât you?!â a man shouts in a whisper. You canât hear crystal clear due to being far into the counter, although you know they must be disturbing the atmosphere.
Vexed by their rowdiness, you turn around and stop making the blend. You walk to the front of the counter, âExcuse me, please lower yourââ
âGive me all your money, lady. Letâs transact in peace so nobody gets hurt,â the man grabs your collar, knife pointed straight into your neck. Another man of his companion moves to the side to cover their actions. You donât feel the sharp edge prick your skin due to intense panic.
You look around frantically, worried if there are other people harmed. To your relief, they seem to not notice anything, if you can even call that relieving. Now there must be no saving you.
âItâs alright, we wonât bring someone else into this, just do what we ask,â the other guy says, wide, haunting eyes looking straight into you. You feel cold sweat drip from your forehead.
âNow hand us what you got.â
On the other hand, Levi finishes with his errands around the capital and stumbles within your shopâs vicinity. Walking mindlessly, he checks the skies to tell the time, but sees the dark clouds instead. It seems itâs about to pour.
Heâs already in front of your shop, but the threatening rain will be bigger trouble, he might get stranded if he stops by. Plus, he probably didnât bring enough money, so heâs got no choice but head back now.
Just when heâs about to leave, his peripheral vision miraculously catches sight of your horrified expression through the window, putting him to an abrupt halt. He turns to see better, and finds two men roughing you up while trying to hide the commotion.
He clicks his tongue and spins to turn away. Itâs not his business anymore, itâs for the Military Police to deal with. They might be loan sharks for all he knows, and youâd be held entirely accountable for that.
Unable to take the view of the knife pointed to your neck out of his head, he sighs defeatedly and eventually discovers himself inside the store, else itâd slowly eat at his conscience.
âOi, whatâs going on here?â he questions with a firm voice, turning heads his way.
âItâs Captain Levi from the Survey Corps!â
âWhat a lucky day!â
People stir up upon seeing the Captain to which he only ignores, full attention on you and the two criminals.
The robber without a weapon quickly turns around to check, shaking in fear. As he makes terrifying eye contact with the Captain, he makes haste for the door in desperate hopes of escaping, but to no avail. Levi grabs the back of the poor guyâs head and slams it against an empty table, putting him to deep sleep. Then turning to your armed assaulter, Levi closes in with big steps and takes the knife down before swinging the side of his hand, striking a nerve on the manâs neck to knock him out.
Levi perceives theyâre complete amateurs and wonders why they even steal. Atleast one of them tried to run, he thinks as he looks down on the passed out crooks.
Youâre not exactly sure if your heart calmed down or speeded up even moreâmaybe both, but you feel safe and more at ease.
Tying the last knot, he stands from his kneeled form and dusts his hands off to rid himself of the filth.
You only watch silently, mind clouded in confusion of what to do. Captain Levi came just in time and saved you and your shop of possible bankruptcy. Say, it could have been the worst timing considering you havenât cleared your cash box for weeks now. Youâre reminded of how much you owe the Captain.
âDonât worry, theyâll be out cold for a while, just call the MPâs on them,â Levi assures before taking a glance at you and fails to understand your expression, your face looks like itâs leaking shit in his opinion.
You look at the two robbers dozing off tied together by the help of Levi and your spare rope before giving your savior another bow. âThank you so much!â you exclaim and raise your head to meet his fierce gaze.
âAnd sorry for the trouble, people around here can get belligerent, especially to us business owners,â you add.
He observes you from head to toe, eyes particularly lingering on your neck, and you blush in embarrassment, feeling his hot stare.
âIs thereâ?â
He takes something from his pocket and offers you a handkerchief which you cluelessly accept. You later on realize what itâs for, finally feeling a sting on your neck. You wipe the bleeding area and see trails of crimson on your apron as well.
With no reason to stay any longer, Levi steers to leave, but is just in time to witness the rain pour down heavily, big droplets washing against the windows. He sighs, itâs just as he guessed.
You, on contrast, get an idea to show your gratitude, feeling a physical candle light up in your brain. âCaptain Levi, please stay and let the rain pass while I brew you some coffee,â you negotiate with strong willed eyes, fixed on returning him a favor. Itâs the least you could do from within your limited skills, and youâd like it if heâd accept. Actually, you wonât accept if he rejects, fully wanting to pay him back atleast a tad.
He looks back at you, slightly surprised. You seem like a more persistent person now rather than an easily flustered mess. Could he be so insensitive as to decline your generous offer after seeing your firm resolve? But more importantly, coffee? Could he be so thick-skinned as to ask for something else other than that?
When he stays quiet, you decide to go ahead and make him a drink from one of your premium coffee beans, but youâre put to a stop as he speaks.
âIâd prefer tea.â
Oh, right. He did ask for black tea a month back, didnât he? You give him a smile and a thumbs up of approval before turning your back to make his tea.
Levi massages his temples and takes a seat, eyeing the immobilized crooks and the outside, thinking what he got himself into. It wonât be so bad to stay for a while and let the rain ease down, right?
You wait for the water to boil before dropping a bunch of mint leaves, then waiting for it to simmer. You prepare a porcelain cup and saucer and pour in the hot liquid, adding honey for a natural sweetener. You mix in a couple droplets of lemon to balance the flavor and youâre good to go.
You set the tea on his chosen table of two, giving the free seat a momentary glimpse. You wonder how it would feel like to have a proper conversation with Captain Levi, only to quickly dismiss the thought of joining him as you hear someone call you from the counter. Thankfully, people are back to minding their business and donât bother the Captain anymore. You excuse yourself and return to work, still a couple hours away from closing time.
Levi sits back and enjoys the tea you made, soon learning itâs a fresh peppermint tea. Though itâs only the second time heâs having your brew, he doesnât know why he already has high expectations. The choice of blend is perfect for a rainy day, and itâs exactly what he would have made when he returned back to the headquarters. You donât really look like someone who prefers tea, but heâs impressed nevertheless.
He sips on the cup, letting the weather pass and the taste line his tongue. A variety of things occupy his mind involuntarily and before he knows it, the rain has calmed down into a shower.
He stands to leave but suddenly notices an umbrella left on his table. When did that get there? He takes a glimpse at you and finds you looking back at him with curious, alert eyes like that of a cat, immediately averting your gaze and resuming to pick up the dirtied tableware onto your tray.
Levi confirms itâs from you, and itâs another one of your acts of gratitude. Heâs left with no choice and grabs it, wraps his slender fingers around the handle, and takes his leave.
Satisfied, you sigh in relief as you watch his back drift into the darkness. You look at the handkerchief in the pocket of your apron, smiling. Despite rumors of him being an unrelenting leader and a ruthless thug that stretched way back, the Captain is a kind man, isnât he? If there really is such thing as coincidence, youâd like to consider yourself lucky for having experienced it.
â
About two more weeks pass when Levi finds himself hooked into the sweet aroma of the tea you make, the ambience of your shopâs environment, and something else he canât put a name on. In actuality, he may or may not be using your umbrella as an excuse to go to your store right now.
He takes a glance at his hand holding the same umbrella. He briefly questions himself what heâs doing but pushes the thought aside with the use of his well thought of excuse. True enough, he canât just go around using other peopleâs possession, can he?
He begins to sense the growing familiarity of your shop as he closes in. The choice of location being just at the mouth of the city, the distinct line between rural and urban is visibly emphasized.
As Levi enters through the saloon door, his eyes almost immediately find your form, leisurely reading while leaning on the counter, back turned against the entrance, your hair up in a braided bun which he finds neat. He clicks his tongue as he approaches to order.
âItâs easier to mug you that way,â he says and you jolt in surprise. Recognizing the stone cold voice, you spin to see the Captain in front of you, inside your very shop once again. This is no coincidence anymore!
âCaptain Levi!â you greet with a beam, utterly delighted to see him. âPleasant afternoon, what can I get you?â you ask and look him straight in the face. Heâs in casual clothes, so you guess itâs another one of his day offâs. His sombre eyes of a unique bluish grey color take on your gaze fiercely. Itâs true that the eyes convey oneâs entire personality, as you feel his menace even though he doesnât intend to display it.
âBlack tea,â he says without a hitch, giving you the exact amount of money, and you proceed to your working space. Boiling of water, straining of tea leaves, pouring it into clean china; as you hand it to him, they start to resemble a routine.
He goes ahead and takes the corner table, and you couldnât be any happier, thinking he seems to like the spot, choosing it among every other free seats. Levi takes a sip, and enjoys it with no wonder. You didnât fail to make an exquisite blend.
A couple moments later, heâs still there. While everyone else chitchats with their company, he sits in silence with his beverage, ocassionally looking at the sky freely laid out by the window. Heâs never really one to catch up with the bulletin and read daily papers, heâd prefer books for that matter.
As you wipe with a rag the empty tabletop just beside him, you see him looking at the window, cup of tea in hand. He, however, feels your stare, and wordlessly slides an umbrella on the table without batting you an eye. You recognize it as yours and take a step towards him.
âYou better not have arrived home drenched that night,â he says. Itâs only until he returned to the headquarters that he had realized you must have given him your only umbrella.
A chuckle leaves your mouth, arenât you concerned. âI might have.â He clicks his tongue.
You grab it in your hands and follow his gaze, soon looking vacantly at the view as well. âYou can see the skies from there, right?â you ask, earning a low hum in response.
âI wonder how far they stretch from outside on⌠Some say theyâre boundless,â the words unconsciously slip from your mouth as you watch the clouds move. Something about relatively slow afternoons just hypnotize you to no end.
Levi shifts his gaze to your figure upon hearing a frame of your mind, finding a glimmer of ambition in the mesmerizing pools of your eyes. He can hear your train of thoughts out loud, while you wonder if you could ever get to experience the outside world. He remembers a couple friends thinking the same thing way back, and he realizes, itâs people like you that he hates to see drift away, one of those whom he feels he has to protect, though itâs not like you know each other to great extent.
He brings his cup to his lips and frankly speaks, âItâs not pretty out there.â
His words interrupt you from your daze, making you look at him. You notice he grips the teacup oddly, holding it around the mouth instead of its handle. You heave out a shallow sigh. âFigured youâd say that,â you say with a sad smile. Itâs undeniable, coming from him.
You fish something from the pocket of your apron and leave it on his table, then making your way back to the counter. A seemingly little exchange of borrowed objects. He eyes his cleaned dry handkerchief and leaves a comment before you can stray farther, âIt does seem endless.â
The corners of your lips upturn into a grateful smile. He really is soft. âThank you.â
He doesnât know exactly what youâre thanking him for.
â
Time and time passed, and he always comes every week without fail. Sometimes, when days are light, he even visits twice a week. You could say you have developed quite a relationship with the Captain, though not something that can be considered close to sentimental. The distance is still present, but youâd have small talks here and there, sometimes youâd lend him your books just so he doesnât bore himself to death, or maybe so heâd stay a little longer.
You gradually learn to read his moods through the language of his orders. You find that heâs more of a tea lover based solely from the fact that he never once asked for coffee. Black tea is his regular, Oolong tea is when something probably turns out good or successful, since the price a little higher and you guess itâs his little way of celebrating, Chamomile tea when something is roughly off, you figure as he never speaks excessively when he orders it.
You never end up joining him, though. Of course, he always takes the table of one, there isnât room for another.
âThe usual,â Levi briefly says and hands you the exact charge. Never faltering, you smile and continue to make black tea for the man. âYou still havenât hired a helper,â he points out and you hum in agreement.
âI can manage by myself,â you inform as you stir his tea. Youâve managed years by your own, what use is there for an extra hand? Besides, itâs not like your shop gets hoarded by huge amounts of people. Coffee shops attract a moderate number, and youâre fine with that.
You slide the finished drink to Levi and he accepts, heading to his own little corner. Ever since he first came, you labeled the corner seat as his own, and you never thought of removing it again. He doesnât seem like a very social person, like heâs a man of few words if talking is unnecessary. You always wonder how it must feel to have a conversation with such a persona; must be novel and inspiriting. Problem is, you donât have the guts to initiate it. You donât want to be overlooked as a fangirl of the sort. If possible, you want to converse casually.
Itâs the looming distance between a coffee shop owner and a countryâs renowned soldier that obstructs you from feeling on level as him.
Still, you donât know why youâre currently grabbing a book from one of your drawers and why youâre currently making your way toward him, tray still in hand to clean afterwards as an excuse.
âFancy a book?â you offer as you set one of your favorite titles on his table. He darts his eye on it and studies the cover for a brief moment, seeing if itâs up to his standards. It doesnât really pique his interest, but you made an effort, and itâd be of great companion with the tea.
Levi accepts the book in his hands and starts reading, later learning about the main characterâs introduction. âYou have a lot of books,â he comments out of observation. This isnât the first time you offered him one, nor is it just the second. Heâs come to a conclusion that you have a liking for it.
You hum in agreement. âI like collecting them, but theyâre still not enough to fill a shelf, though. Iâm thinking about putting one here,â you say, already envisioning where to place it.
He almost immediately thought of the Headquartersâ library. A lot of books there just get covered in dust, unmoved. Cadets these days donât take reading as hobby. He considers the idea of bringing some for your shop to make use of it. âI can hand you some,â he says, flipping the page.
Your eyes widen in an equal mix of delight and surprise. Heâd go that far? For what? Is the Captain really like this? âReally? From where?â you try to hide the excitement in your voice, but it doesnât escape his ears. Well isnât that great? An upgrade for your shop and a chance to see him again. Not that heâs not showing himself enough.
âScoutsâ library,â he says, flipping another page, and youâre deep in thought. Is that allowed? Do I have to pay?
Just a couple of pages in, he seems partially engrossed. The protagonist is a traveller who encounters metaphorical life obstacles and is most likely to find self-discovery through it, thatâs as much as he knows.
He notices you still havenât left and bats you an eye. You look troubled and euphoric at the same time, he couldnât understand entirely what youâre thinking but he has a clue. âItâs free. Some of it are old anyway,â he informs, which seems to bring your face relief. So his hunch turns out to be right, you were thinking of the burden.
âOh, I wasnât thinking that!â you deny right away, waving your hand dismissively, cheeks blushing. You definitely were.
He stays quiet, and you feel ashamed. Does he think youâre a cheapskate? Or thick-faced? Hey, heâs also reading, you must be a distraction. Oh god, how can you make acquaintances with him now?
You aim to leave and give him his space, afraid that you might be bugging him for too long now, but Levi suddenly speaks just in time.
âYou have an allurement for things about the outside,â he asserts in heed. When you donât answer, he continues, âItâs not all rainbows out there, you know.â His perception of you still stands as heâs continuously reminded by you of people who go through great measures to reach their dreams, and those he lost due to wanting to seek for more.
You donât know if itâs a positive connotation or a negative but he doesnât sound so enthusiastic. Your grip on the tray tightens. The way he puts it⌠is he trying to make you drop your interest?
âI do know that. I just,â you pause, contemplating what to say. Youâre stuck with I just want to dream, is it so bad? or I just want to experience the forbidden, Iâm sick of being stuck in this birdcage, or an impulsive one: I just want to see, would you bring me outside?
Instead, you settle with âI wouldnât know, Iâm a mere shop owner. I donât have the chance to sit and talk with someone whoâs gone beyond the walls.â Like you, sir.
He studies you as you look back at him with firm eyes. Brat, you already live a life with fair peace. The resolve in your eyes didnât waver, not one bit. He thinks, will you be content with knowing about the outside? Levi heaves out a sigh and closes the book before leisurely taking a sip on his tea.
âMaybe if youâd put another chair, weâve been talking for months now,â he then says, an even amount of sarcasm in his tone, enough to not come off as rude.
Dumbfounded, you gawk at the Captain for a good five seconds, eyes slightly enlarged in surprise before laughing your head off, turning a couple heads your way for a fleeting second.
âWhatâs funny?â he quizzes, thin brows furrowed together, and you wave him off, wiping your euphoric tears away.
âWell, I didnât know itâd be that simple, Captain!â you giggle, eyes genuinely happy and hearty. Just put a chair in? In all seriousness, he doesnât exactly look approachable with those half lidded dark eyes and a permanent scowl now, does he? Thatâs one of the primary reasons you have trouble making advances to him.
Levi looks at you, taking in the undeniably beautiful sight before clicking his tongue and averting his gaze.
Heâs absolutely certain he paid no attention to the way you tucked your hair behind your ear in a timid manner, the way your silky locks sway gracefully by the windâs cool breeze, the way your delicate fingers held to the tray tightly as you try to compose yourself, and the way your glowing eyes looked back at him with a gentle gaze once youâve finally calmed down. Yes, he likes to think he paid no extra mind to those details.
âTch, did you think Iâd bite you or something?â he deadpans, taking another sip on his cup.
âNo, absolutely not!â You absolutely did. âIâll put another chair some other day,â you say and wave him goodbye upon seeing a customer enter, returning to your working place.
He shakes his head lightly and finishes his cup, bringing the book with him as he takes his exit. The smile in your face never disappeared throughout the day, chest booming in an unrelenting speed.
Sunday comes, and you decide to do a general cleaning. You also buy a small shelf from the nearest furniture shop and have it delivered, filling it with some of your books. You squeeze in a chair to the corner by adjusting the other tablesâ distances, and you can only laugh at yourself for not thinking of this long ago. You think, why not just sit on a table of two? but figure maybe the Captainâs already grown fond to the spot.
You feel like a schoolgirl as you mindlessly prepare things to talk about and questions to ask. How much does he know? Are titans really that big? Is the ocean real? What brought him to your shop?
But after that, you never saw him again. You think maybe heâll arrive later or the next day, but more weeks pass, and not even his shadow appeared.
The slowest weeks achingly turn to months. Youâve been awfully attentive to the morning papers since then, looking for the slightest news about him, or their operations. You think itâs completely understandable, being perfectly aware that the Captain is a busy man. You know that visiting little tea shops isnât actually a luxury that a guy like him affords, but it tugs at your heart a teeny bit, a small part of you involuntarily longing for him. Eitherway, you just wish for his and his peopleâs safety.
About five months have passed since you last saw him. Levi, on the other hand, has gotten busy those said times. Expeditionary Operations came after another, and heâs buried with work once they arrive back. His squad got promoted to Special Operations Squad, and intensive training was mandatory. The amount of free time he had back then was generous, and in those five months, he had no time to slack off.
But he never forgot you, every single time he drinks tea, he starts doubting his own blend as compared to yours.
âThatâs the last of it,â Levi says as he hands over piles and piles of paperwork to the Commander. Erwin only grunts his response.
The ravenhead contemplates for a few moments before finally speaking, âIâll be out. Iâll return before dinner,â he informs and turns his back, words more of a statement than asking for permission. The higher ranking officer only stares at him as his figure leaves the room. Fair enough, heâs done with his current tasks as a Captain and itâs his first day off in a while. He leaves him be.
Levi dismisses his tan jacket and fixes his cravat as he heads to the shop he favors. He ends up forgetting the books heâs supposed to give but pushes it aside. Oh well, just another excuse for him to visit.
Minutes of walking on foot, steps a little quicker than normal, and he finally arrives, the ambience hugging at his aura. Itâs been long since he last set his foot here. He pushes at the saloon door, a ton of improvisations greeting his sight. The interior is now painted a beige color, the warmth going along with the wooden accents. Youâve added the shelf you said you wanted to put, a fair number of books in it. Lastly, his preferred corner seat already has two chairs opposite to each other.
Your back is turned against the door again, leaning on the counter as you occupied yourself with a book. He notices that your hair has gotten longer in a span of months. He shortly wonders what else has changed.
âOi, the usual,â a familiar voice says, stoic tone resonating in your ears and you immediately feel your soul light up, like itâs been ages since you last felt so giddy. A chaotic mix of worry, excitement, longing, and bliss surges all throughout your body.
When you face the stale eyed man, your tingling heart shamelessly speeds up, a smile rising on your lips.
â
You wave him farewell as he leaves, and as he cuts eye contact, heat shoots up into your cheeks like crazy, which he totally misses out on.
One step out and Levi feels the presence of a stalker just around the alley. He gives her a bored look and starts walking away, which she then reveals herself and follows suit.
âSo this is you and your secret loverâs getaway, huh?â Hange teases, obviously aiming to pry for more. Now what, sheâs spying on him? This insane woman.
âDonât be ridiculous, she has good tea,â Levi answers in nonchalance, staring right ahead the road. The woman makes silly noises at his response, similar to those sounds only she can produce when learning new discoveries about titans.
âPrecisely,â the redhead says in satisfaction, nodding her head with her hands stroking her chin as if she got the answer sheâs waiting for.
He shoves her actions aside, couldnât care less about whatever conclusion she came up with. But no matter how much he keeps convincing his subconscious, itâs the tea that draw me in, he just canât bring himself to believe in it.
