Writing trans headcanons helps with my dysphoria so enjoy this long list

and some gross trans fluff I'll be posting later 

I really, really love the fact that Deryn is canonly bigendered. And I always headcanoned Deryn as preferring to go by Dylan and Male pronouns.

And additionally I've always thought Alek would be trans and go by Sophia bc I'm trash.

Newkirk is gay, like, the reason he was actually on the Leviathan is bc his mother enrolled him in one of those "pray the gay away/manly muscle the gay away" programs 

I will never get over the fact that Volger is canonly gay. Like this isn't a headcanon but I just love that this is fact and, theoretically in an alternate universe, I have a chance with him

Volger was in love with Franz don't fight me on this 

Klopp never guess Deryn's "gender"- until being told the truth in Goliath he just kinda thought Alek was the homogay and he was ok w/ it shh do not fight me

Hans figured out Deryn's "gender" back when they were stuck on the glacier

Lillit is president of the GSA/LGBTQ club

Everyone in school, deciding to be supportive of their friend and soccer captain elect Dylan and Alek as homecoming kings

Well Deryn, assuming they've figured out her secret lets her mother pick her homecoming dress and do her makeup 

when she shows up at the dance everybody thinks it's Dylan pulling a gag

"And the 2014 homecoming queen is...Deryn Elizabeth Sharp and her King Aleksander Ferdinand"

Deryn taking the mic and thanking them for being so supportive but calling them all daft gits then dropping the mic

Deryn had a bad emo/scene phase freshman year and Jaspert refused to claim her as one of his, vehemently denying the fact that he had a sister or any sort of sibling

This phase was bad as in faux-temporary black hair die, band t-shirt, and faux gauges from claire's 

it's also because of this phase that Volger refers to Deryn/Dylan as "the devil child" whenever alek brings him up

ernst my husband  ends up finding someone via his conservation efforts who also happens to work at the zoological society. When he initially brings him over for the annual Christmas dinner (which yes, includes klopp, bauer and hoffman) Only Alek seems to be out of the loop about their relationship...everybody else just kinda guessed

This mans name maybe or may not be Gabriel shush u face don't judge me

 Deryn gets to be super good friends with Barlow's two kids, and she eventually becomes like another kid to Barlow

Alek is a huge dork and needs glasses

Deryn refuses to have children with Alek upon seeing Carlos the second of Spain in his family tree

Alek tries to prove to Deryn that he's very very very distantly related to him

"Deryn, please, we're not even from the same branches! I'm holy roman empire!"

Lillit marries Jaspert bc cliches are so important to the nature of everything good in the universe 

The Leviathan relands in London about two years later, most of the in-series crew still serving on it in addition to Fitzroy. They decide to look up Alek and Dylan to see how they're fairing

Long story short they walk in on a very steamy shirtless/almost pantless makeout session on Barlow's desk

the incident ends in Barlow getting a new desk and Deryn/Dylan being outed
