'what if', sea monster au: Leviathan y/n
welcome to the first of what im gonna call the 'what if' au series, where i tamper with some minor part of an au that doesn't really change the story/themes but is fun nonetheless
in this case: what if, instead of being a vague fish-monster-creature, the reader in the sea monster AU was based on a leviathan? Most specifically with the 'leviathan' being a massive, aggressive, ship-sinking level sea serpent (with multiple eyes, because that's neat). They have two forms, for convenience, and to keep with their selkie origins: resting/healing form, where they are almost person sized but are at their most vulnerable, and behemoth form, which is a deadly but extremely taxing form they can take to defend themselves, their territory, or their loved ones
