This @levihanfest entry was an unintentional one. I was inspired by Circles around the sun by @starshower1215 and had put my heart to draw out child Levihan in a field of sunflowers. Took me longer than I wanted (started in Apr) but it is just in time for #levihanweek2025.
I title this "Shadows from our past". May our 2 childhood buddies find the peace and joy they deserve.
Levihan Week – Day 5 : Roommates 🧼
"And then... they were roommates."

LeviHan Week Day 1: The Prince & The Bookworm
Steel gray eyes always took glances at the chestnut haired girl that frequented the estate library. She was the child of one of the guards. Her mother had passed away when she was young and her father begged the king to let her stay in the castle. He abided, only if she would be put into use.
So she cleaned. At least, she tried to. Levi first noticed her while he was looking for a book on dark magic that his father had hidden. He would’ve walked right past her, if it weren’t for the books that came crashing down from above.
Young Levi stopped in his tracks, sensing the books falling allowing him to not get caught in their downpour. He looked up at the young girl sitting on the very top of the ladder, waving slyly and apologetically with a wary smile on her face. She wa
“Sorry!”
“Who are you?”
She put back the rest of the books in her hand and climbed down the ladder one step at a time. When she got to the bottom, she stuck out her hand, covered in dust and gray looking matter.
“My name’s Hange! I’m the new cleaning person, I guess.”
Levi crossed in arms. “Oh! You’re the new cleaning staff. Well, I have to say you’re terrible at your job.”
She chuckled, “You’re right about that.”
She still had her hand out, waiting like a puppy on a doorstep. Levi looked at her hand then at her face then back at her hand. He slowly reached for hers and she held her hand out.
“So?”
He looked at her peculiarly. “So what?”
“So, what's your name?”
“You don’t know my name?”
“No. My dad just said to make friends with the prince, that you would be about my age, but not my height.”
“Tch.” Levi took back his hand and turned around to continue his mission.
“Wait! What are you looking for? I can help you find it!”
Levi stopped in his tracks. He didn’t want her help, but he knew he needed help finding the book.”
Before he turned around, he asked, “ Are you sure you can help me?”
“Yep! When I’m not cleaning, I’m spending my time here in this library, oh!” Her eyes went big, “Did you know you have a whole section on just magic books? I bet the book you’re looking for is buried between one of the books.”
“I’ve already checked that section.”
“But did you really check it?”
Levi hesitated. Thinking back, maybe he didn’t quite check everything.
He shook his head. He hated second guessing himself.
Hange smiled, grabbed his hand, and pulled him towards the other side of the library.
“C’mon, I’ll show you!”
Levi was taken aback, so much so that he didn’t even realize the blush on his face. Never had anyone been so…unformal with him before. Everyone in the Trost Kingdom was ever obedient, hiding their feelings and making sure their manners were worn on their sleeves.
But this girl? This Hange, she was different. It’s like she didn’t care that he was a prince. She was treating him like an everyday person. And for that, Levi’s walls lowered ever so slightly.
When they came to the section, there was a ladder leading towards the very top of the shelf, almost 20 feet high. Hange let go of his hand and without a word, started climbing. He watched as she used her hands and foot to move the ladder from one side to the other. She carefully searched through every nook and cranny until she finally gasped.
“Levi!”
The young boy looked up at the young girl waving a big black book in her hand.
“Is this it? It looks like…ooooh!”
Levi witnessed the girl try to reclaim her balance, but one foot slipped and she fell, squeezing the book to her chest, eyes closed, ready for the inevitable.
But then all of a sudden, her fast and furious fall, felt somehow soft and slow. She opened her brown eyes and looked around as she realized she was gently falling.
“Woah! Levi?”
Before he could answer, she was in his arms. He looked away as he gently put her down and she got back on her feet.
“Was that your magic?”
He wasn’t avoiding her gaze, in order to deflect his ever weird feelings.
The boy shrugged his shoulders. “Yeah. Nothing extraordinary."
“Well I think it’s exceptional!”
“Whatever, four-eyes.”
She crossed her arms and repeated, “Four -eyes?”
He didn’t mean to call her that, but it was a way to not let her suspect anything.
“Yeah, I’m going to call you Four-eyes from now on.”
“No you won’t!”
“Four-eyes!”
“Fine, whatever you say, Shorty.” She said this as she stuck out her tongue playfully.
He rolled his eyes.
After a few beats, Hange put her hands out to give him the big black book.
He looked down then back at her face and took it without a flinch.
“Thanks.”
“You’re welcome!”
As he walked off, he couldn’t help but fight the urge to look back. When he did, she was still looking his way, smiling and waving her hand carefree.
His heart would melt. But he didn't realize it at the time.
Now, there she was. Grown up with her nose in her book, where he left her all those years ago.
She looked up from her pages and waved with a smile that melted his heart like it did at the beginning.
“Hey, Shorty! Ready for our lesson for today?”
“I think I should be asking you that question.”
He sat next to her, as they went through spell after spell until the sun started sweating and their stomach started to grumble.
“Well, I think that’s enough studying for today.”
He closed the book up and Hange wrote down the last of her notes.
“Yeah you’re right.”
Levi was getting ready to prop his legs up, when she grabbed him by the hand.
Just like when they were kids, a faint blush appeared on his cheeks.
“What is it Four-eyes?”
The library was silent and the orange hues of the evening sun shone through the colorful stained glass window, surrounding Hange in a lovely rainbow glow.
“Well, I was just wondering…”
There was a pause as she thought about her next words. The library was quiet and only a couple of birds could be heard flying next to the windows.
“Maybe…we should live here…together?”
“You mean in the library?” One of his eyebrows perked up in curiosity.
“No, I mean like…in life…in general.”
Her brown eyes shined brightly, creating a golden tint to them. His steel, grey eyes stared into hers.
When no answer was immediately said, Hange tried backtracking.
“I mean, you know, I meant as f…”
Before she could try to cover it up, his thin lips met hers. She practically jumped in surprise, but once realization came, her heart fell into his and they fell into a long and passionate kiss.

It was nice to write Levihan in a different setting! I'm excited to read and see all the wonderful things everyone made this week. 💚💜
