in the attack on titan manga, there's a character called hange that's never referred to with gendered terms. the author stated multiple times that he wanted their gender to be ambiguous.

unfortunately, in english translation of the manga and in the anime, hange is only ever referred to/presented as a woman.

it really bugs me that the small pieces of representation nonbinary people get in media are never taken seriously and that nonbinary characters like hange are constantly put into gendered boxes.
