welp, I finally did some more headcanons about Corrupting Watch!Ben

"Mal...I'm the wielder the Omnitrix was meant for, right?" he asks his partner, who, had he been in possession of an actual face, would look very concerned at that moment. "In all but 3 so far confirmed alternate universes, yes, you are, Ben." he answered. "Good. Then it won't hurt me." Famous last words, Corra thinks, as they begin to extend their influence into Ben's mind. 2. "T-that symbol..." an alien thug stammers out, pointing at the Omnitrix. "Is the one belonging to the corrupted parasite who took down Vilgax the Conqueror, yes. I've heard the story, I control the parasite now. Wanna fight me over it?" Ben asked, powering up the watch itself. The alien didn't respond. Ben turned the dial carefully, then slammed down the faceplate as Corra turned him into the Omnitrix's Ectonurite form. "You're not worth my time." Ben-as-the-Ectonurite hissed, leaning towards the alien. "Now leave!" The alien scrambled backwards, beginning to run away as soon as they could get on their feet. 3. "Ah, Grandpa Max. Dear, dear grandfather. Remember this?" Ben asked, holding up the Omnitrix. "It's the device you tried to keep from me. The device you knew would make me like all the other Bens from those alternate timelines." "N-now, hold on, I didn't know about tha-" Max said, backing away from his grandson, holding his hands up in a defensive stance. "I don't need to hear your excuses. You kept me in the dark about who you were, what I was supposed to be, for almost seventeen years. You let me almost die before you told me your secret!" Ben lifted him up by his shirt collar, Corra's strength surging into him. "The only thing you ever did was hold me back, let me believe this stupid, simple life in the suburbs was all I had. That was a lie, as false as that left arm of yours, and you knew it! But you still didn't tell me the truth about yourself." Max stared at him in disbelief, looking like he might've been about to cry. "Aww, what is it? Now I'm finally telling you the truth, and you can't take it?" Ben asked, mocking the person he'd once looked up to more than anyone. "Well, guess what, Max. The truth hurts." 4. "I heard what you said to Magister Tennyson, Ben." Malware tells him, when the two of them are alone together. "If I am able to keep calling you that, anyway. Given the original meaning of said name, I am not sure I could do so anymore." "You're so smart, Malware." Ben said. "Isn't that ultra-high-tech computer brain of yours supposed to be sure about everything? Come on, you know the answer." "No." said Malware. "I do not." "What a shame." Ben said. "I used to think you were perfect. I looked up to you, saw you as a fellow soldier, a friend. I respected you. Now? My sight's been cleared, Malware. And I know what you really are." "I am afraid that I do not know what you are referring to." Malware said. "Would you like to enlighten me?" "It's simple, Malware. You're a paradox. The so-called hero, beloved across the galaxy by those it saves, but doesn't belong on its home world because it's different. The one who always wants to help people, yet due to its appearance, is feared and distrusted by almost as many planets as the ones who love it. The one who's dedicated to saving lives, yet really hardly has one itself." "Is that so wrong?" Malware asks. "You're a machine. A Galvanic Mechamorph with anomalous technorganic hardware, made of living metal. You don't have any emotions, you don't truly care for anyone or anything. You don't know what it's like to be human, to really think or feel. All you know was programmed into you. It's all fake. It could be removed at a moment's notice, replaced with new codes and data, and you wouldn't even recognize the difference. 'Cause you know what the most important thing is, Malware? The worst part of it all?" Malware doesn't want to know the answer, but still he says it. "What is it, Ben?" "You have no soul." 5. "Attention, all available Plumber agents and personnel." Max's voice comes in over the P.A. system, sounding weary. "I regret to inform you that...we can no longer trust the Plumber agent currently known as Ben Tennyson. He is extremely dangerous, and will show no mercy." He hesitated before the last command. "Apprehend at all costs. If necessary, shoot to kill."

Corrupting Watch AU

I hate this AU and I hate that I still have actual good ideas for it

1. Ben hates this thing, this Omnitrix in human form, from the moment it calls Malware “brother”. It doesn’t deserve that, to even consider Malware family to it.(Malware never called it his sibling. It’s always the failed experiment, the parasite, the mistake, Azmuth’s shame. The only red in his creator’s otherwise clean ledger. Sickening.)

2. If being bonded to Malware at first felt like drowning, this feels like being drained- like there’s an IV port hooked up to him, taking away his very essence instead of it pumping into him. It’s a surrender, and Ben is a prisoner of his own body.

3. It tells him it’s his fault, that it can bond to him as well as Ben bonded to Malware. Ben is the one who bonded with it before, Ben has it in the other universes, Ben is the one whose fate is intertwined with it, not the othe way around. Ben, it’s you, not me.

4. When the Omnitrix decides to confront Malware, Ben is the first thing standing in its way. Pathetic, the Omnitrix thinks, believing they can simply shove Ben aside to get to their target.It isn’t nearly as simple as that.

5. While trapped in his own mind, helpless as the Omnitrix uses his body and his strength to fight his allies, his friends, Ben can’t help but wonder if this is how Malware feels whenever he has to bond with him. He tries to push the thought out of his mind, but it clings to him as tightly as the Omnitrix, and just like it, refuses to let go.

so one time i saw this fic idea where Ben over-relied on Feedback like in canon, except instead of having Feedback die, Ben kind of thought he was Feedback all the time and took on Feedback’s mannerisms and such which did not end well for him, remaining human and all

So my point is, Corrupted Watch sub-AU where Malware separates from Ben temporarily, and Ben’s not used to this so the above situation happens, or they just eventually permafuse into one being

The best way to describe the difference between the Ben and Malware relationships in Universe 23 and the Corrupted Watch Universe is this: Ben 23 wants to be with his universe's Malware. Corrupted Watch Ben wants to be his universe's Malware.

like, after ben’s death, malware is really shaken up, right? like, he knows corra is also dead and he’s satisfied with that, but at the same time, this is ben and ben is important to him.

so he prepares to go back to galvan prime, to inform azmuth of this tragedy, but azmuth instead soon arrives on earth (and of course he already knows of the tragedy)

and basically the azmuth/ben conversation from showdown part 2 happens

“I come 76,000 light-years and I don’t even get a formal greeting?”

“Oh. Hello, Father.” (this is the only time that he calls him that to his face, by the way)

“So, how is my greatest invention? You haven’t blown apart or fallen in any toilets or anything?”

“No. I suppose not.”

“You know, you’ve been doing an awful lot of winning since you expressed your desire to remain on Earth and become a Plumber.”

“So?”

“So, you don’t learn anything when you win, Malware. Losing this human Ben Tennyson was hard, wasn’t it?”

“Y-yes...it felt as if he was...part of me.”

“Well, you can let that one loss define you from now on...or you can learn from it.”

(and much later, in a rematch of sorts against Corra, attached to another young, forgotten boy named Devlin Levin, he does)
