Levona grew up in a moon colony in the future, and isn’t used to nature on this level. from her perspective, she’s gone back in time to a kind of paradise where real wood was as common as dust. she had celebrated tu b’shevas (jewish newyear of trees) with a feeling of missing something she’d never known, but now she knows, and it’ll never be the same again... Alison recognises this feeling from when the timelords took her back in time to visit some of the history of her various jewish and african ancestors.

Alison thinks about what it would be like to try and tell her parents about Levona... telling them she’s met someone, from really far away. “far away, like... Israel?” says her mum almost hopefully. “even further,” says alison. 

how do you tell your parents you’re in love with a girl from the future, that you finally feel at home and it’s with someone who can’t actually leave to be with you?! 

first you’d have to convince them time travel is real, then you’d have to tell your mum that all her jokes about jews fleeing to the moon were accurate (but partly because everyone had fled the earth at some point. it wasn’t just a lunar kibbutz)... 

you’d have to dodge your dad’s scientific interrogations, not because you wouldn’t understand but because you’d avoided knowing that much about just how it all happened. he knows he’ll be dead by the time of earth collapse, but for all you know it could be the doctor’s next assignment from the council of timelords. oh and that’s another thing. you have to explain the true nature of this “internship” that you’ve taken a gap year for... 

but right now? levona is close enough that they can feel each other breathe. the silence of the forest is anything but, as the girls’ quiet existences blend with all the others around them, and they hear the small animals, the breeze... maybe even the sap moving inside the trees. alison lets her worries swirl away up among the leaves that glow chartreuse with the sun behind them, and thinks that it will work out, they will find a way. they have to.

Crash Headcanon #15

In honor of @adarlingdingolady

Levona Dingo was created by Cortex before him meeting the Evil Twins, for the purpose of taking Crash out when his guard was down. The original plan was to station her at the Moulin Cortex, where her feminine wiles and charm would lure the bandicoot close, before taking him out with her assassin skills and hidden weapons. 

However, she fell not only in love with the stage, but also another mutant dingo who had come to see her perform.
