Fatphobia is when Doug Walker (skinny) gets people to reference his review persona in cartoons in spite of being guilty of numerous borderline felonies along with his brother & manager, but Lewis Lovhaug (fat) gets harassed for views he hasn't held since the last decade, bullied for corny bad comics he made in 00s while being barely out of high school & put in cringe comps for not reacting placidly to the shit other people pull on him for no reason
you'd think i would've figured things out about myself sooner considering all the times i went around punching the air, shouting, "i am a man!" in my best linkara impression because it made me happy

I love the AT4W storyline commentary streams and the latest one reminded me of the face Linksano makes when Linkara points out to him how much work actually ruling the world would be

Linkara’s Heroes in Crisis and my thoughts on the review
@atopfourthwall since he made these videos and does really damn good work.
First off that is not the same video three times in a row, it’s a three parter because large event with a lot of stupid and harmful. Now with that out of the way, I highly recommend this review, and all of event comics month 3 in general since it’s really good stuff and having read Secret Empire first run, that review was really cathartic and even brought up points I didn’t htink about. But this one in paticular NEEDED a good thrashing, and was even worse than I thought for the parts I didn’t stick around for. It represents mental ilness, in a book meant to portray it seriously and tactfully, like it makes you inherently dangerous and a danger to everyone around you at worst and an unstable unfunctional moron at BEST and as someone with a few mental illnesses (Depression, Anxiety and Autisim) I find it disgusting. It wastes a great concept, at therapy retreat for superheroes to get the help they certainly need away from prying eyes, but instead has as frankenstiens ai made up of the big three , NONE of whom have medical training. And it tops it all off by making Wally West a mass murderer in the dumbest way possible because Dan DiDio didn’t like the character and Tom King didn’t care enough to try and fight to stop this, because he was getting what he wanted anyway. Most of this is covered in the video among other stupidity, and some like the AI thing I dind’t know of, but one bit that hit close to home, in part because it’s why I gave up before things got even WORSE, was the ending: Lewis gives an utterly beautiful speech about why he takes the constant use of C-List fodder personally. Because, as he put pefectly “Sometimes they don’t come back.” His own favorite super hero, Danny Chase, died 30 years ago and hasn’t come back in that time in any way shape or form because fans didn’t like him. He notes Cassandra Cain and Steaphanie Brown only escaped being turned into a villian and killed respectivley because of fan backlash. And that Lagoon Boy, Gnark and Joto.. probably won’t be back. That many of those dead here will just remain dead. Roy probably will be, but he’s probably the only one.
And why that hit so close is why I quit reading despite the events supposed importance: Kid Devil, Eddie BLoomberg, another character didio hates for no reason, was among the casualties of this event. He is my faviorite titan, Barely inching out Nightwing.
He started as the goofy sidekick to Blue Devil, a sweet kid who just wanted to join his hero, but returned under Geoff Johns as the standout of his titans team after the one year later time jump post infnite crisis now a devil himself. See Johns deepend the character, made Eddie being stranded in comic book limbo into a plot point: Eddie tried joining young justice but only got in right before the end of that team. He tried luthor’s infnity inc but was rejected, same with the titans. So Neron, a high demon and basically DC”s second rate mephisto, offered him a deal: Eddie gets the powers he desperatley wanted.. but on his 20th birthday Neron gets him as his minon.. provided of course Eddie dosen’t trust Blue Devil by then. And being demon Neron already had the ammuintion to take that trust away: Turns out Blue Devil made his own deal way back when Neron debuted, and it resulted in the death of Eddie’s Aunt and surrogate parent Marta and finding this out broke the guy. So you had a charming, nice, friendly guy who was carrying around a horrifying ticking clock and a painful and sad backstory> He was fun, had intresting powers, and a great hook now. But eventually he got depowered due to Neron getting taken out, was mocked by newer titans due to having none, and eventually he died... intended to come back but shut down due to DiDio being a prick, but he died a hero, sacrifcing himself to save an entire city like a true titan. And instead of getting a comeback with Rebirth, finally getting a slot on a team eventually and a way back.. he simply comes back just to die again because Tom King just took whatever corpses he was given and didn’t look back or care. Because Dan DiDio just disilkes him for some reason, he stayed dead. Hopefully with new editorial he’ll come back.. but I doubt it. So not only did he not get to stay alive, but instead of dying a true hero in a blaze of glory at least, he dies killed in an utterly stupid event that dosen’t get how mental health works. And yes I know he’s a ficitonal character. but it still hurts when you have one horribly written or killed without a thought of how to use them properly, and i’m glad someone gave him a ulogy. Sure he wasn’t mentioned, but it was for all the characters who’d been subject to being dumbly killed off, all those who probably will never come back. Sure sometimes god throws you a bone and you get something like the current X-Men run where EVERY mutant whose died is being brought back for the most part but that’s a beautiful once in a decade miracle, the exception not the rule. It’s not sometimes they don’t come back.. when your a c-list hero most times they don’t come back.. and i’m glad someone who knows that horrible feeling put it into words for all of us. Thank you Lewis. And for now, until someone pulls him back from the grave, rest in peace eddie
When Channel Awesome went down I was surprised that Linkara was one of the main people criticizing Doug. I always pegged him as a company man so that was surprising.
