I feel that ley-men, astronomer-priest, druid, bard, wizard, witch, palmer, and hermit, were all more or less linked by one thread of ancient knowledge and power, however degenerate it became in the end.

The concept of ley lines was first proposed in 1921 by Alfred Watkins, after he noticed that ancient sites at different points around the world all corresponded with a specific alignment, including the Great Pyramids of Giza, Chichen Itza, and Stonehenge. Watkins did not believe in any mystical or paranormal explanation for ley lines, however, the authors of Book of English Magic argue, “The idea that there is a hidden network of energy lines across the earth ... fired the imagination of the burgeoning New Age movement...”
