Egyptian American, but he looks like a white boy(he gets it from his mom)
His Dad emigrated from Egypt to avoid homophobia(he's bi btws), now lives in NYC.
His Mother's issues(workaholic, serial cheater, emotional abuser) didn't become apparent to his Dad after they'd been married for two years(31 y/olds btw) and together for five.
Their street took 'It takes a Village' too literally; block parties, community get-togethers, and their local park was a big part of Avery's life while growing up in NYC.
On the other hand, for the first month-month and a half of every summer since his younger siblings(twins) were born, they'd go stay in MA with their Aunt Ophelia and their cousin(same age as Avery) Alex.
Childhood friends include Tan and Felix; Tan went into the Air Force, Felix moved to London to start a career in Fashion. Avery went to Harvard(graduated HS with a GPA of 3.3) on a scholarship/grant or smth like that(his fam is lowk kinda not rich so he qualified for financial help), hoping to be a bioengineer.
First hears of one Derek Hutchins via his classmate Ruby Dela Cruz, who happens to be Derek's friend.

Spent the first decade of his life in rural Germany, moved to urban England(perhaps London but that feels basic, what do you guys recommend?), learned English, and now goes to Harvard hoping to be in the Medical Field(broadly, idk what yet)

Met Ruby and JJ(his friends) online, luckily they both go to Harvard sooo yippe that worked out(cowinkydink? fate? who tf knows(me))
