So I just woke up. What the fuck is up with this fandom? Are people actually outing lgbtq folks or threatening to out them? Have we lost any sort of respect? Did they not learn shit from everything taylor has ever done? Set aside the horrific kind of human you have to be to actively look for queer people that are in the closet, but to be a fan of someone who stands up for lgbtq rights and say you love her, to then go on a witch haunt to out them...

Maybe in the states or the UK or any 1st world countries this is just a dick move to do, outing someone. But there are places where just acting gay or being rumored to be gay can take you to jail or the death penalty. I'm not even considering countries like mine where I can be (and have been) harassed in public spaces or denied service. I'm talking about countries where the government is actively looking for lgbtq people to murder them or encarcerate them, and the law is on their side.

I am lucky enough to live in a place where being out and proud just means rude people and less places to go out to (which with the pandemic has become irrelevant, since I never go out), and I am out and proud af. But, please, if you have reblogged an lgbtselfienight, delete it and message them to see how they can help. Trans folks in the middle East and Africa have it the worst, to my knowledge, so reach out if you know anyone.

If you are lgbtq and closeted, no matter where you live and no matter why you're not out, you are valid and appreciated and welcomed to talk to me whenever. If I have the means to help you in any way, I will do my best. Please stay safe!
