I thought i was over my parasocial relationship with this woman, but its ingrained too deeply inside of me and no amount of maturity will stop me from feeling an internal sense of bliss and hope when something significant for her happens. Even if it has nothing to do with me or her art. It's her. I love her as a person first, even if and when i disagree with her choices or words. And she doesn't even know I exist.

The Books on the Shelf
1. Casa Wabi by Bosco Sodi, Martino Stierli, and Tadao Ando
- Casa Wabi is a nonprofit art center in Mexico. It primarily displays contemporary art (including architecture).
2. Chagall, Lissitzky, Malevitch: The Russian Avant-garde in Vitebsk (1918-1922)
- This book explores post-revolutionary art from three very influential artists at the time. The art has a very modern feel to it and employs a lot of bright colors!
3. Ruth Asawa - Yale University Press
- Ruth was a famous Japanese American artist known for her modern wire sculptures. She was placed in an internment camp for several years during WWII. Due to discrimination she faced, she decided to give up teaching and pursue a career as an artist.
What does it mean?
Honestly.. who knows? In my opinion, Taylor is teasing the feel of the new tloas album. She very clearly chose to highlight modern artists that were influential in their time. While ttpd seemed to take a lot of inspo from literary artists, I think this era highlights visual art. I’d bet we will see a lot more of Taylor herself rather than just more letters she wrote to us. tloas is likely going to be vibrant and something completely new for Taylor. Combining this with the imagery we’ve picked up on from the hints before us (the album title itself, the music videos/eras sets showing Tay as a literal showgirl like bejeweled and icdiwabh, the contemporary feel of the anti-hero music video, and of course the mint green/coppery orange which feels like the oxidization of copper) we can assume this album will highlight a lot of Taylor’s struggles with fame. She is the most influential and perceived woman of our time.
Taylor is placed on a pedestal, a shiny copper statue or a performer with a squeaky clean image to maintain. Not only have fans placed her there, she views herself this way. She’s incredibly critical of herself. The mint green, or oxidization, is a protective layer over the copper of Taylor’s persona.
She’s already entered into evidence her tarnished coat of arms, her muses acquired like bruises, the *tick tick tick* of love bombs in ttpd. tloas is the post-revolutionary era that has finally allowed Taylor to stop fighting to protect her heart/fame/image. She’s now free to explore and create again, like the artists she so carefully chose to highlight.
I’m a big fan of that post-laundry feeling when you’ve got all your A-list clothes back in the game.
Okay so during the podcast there was a figure of Pinocchio on the bookcase behind Travis.
Pinocchio’s whole thing is that he’s made out of wood and wants to be brought to life as a real human boy instead of just a puppet. He spends a bit of time having strings attached to him and then gushes about the freedom he feels when they are no longer there. And that got me thinking about the track “Wood” and the aspects of fame and performing.
Perhaps “Wood” is about being seen as a real human instead of simply an entertainer or “puppet,” finding herself brought to life by something or someone else and freeing herself of the strings that once held her back.
Me: I’m feeling more normal about Taylor Swift than I have in years.
Taylor: Bet?
