tw: mention of alcohol

drinking with friends has become a bit harder now that he’s an idol, especially when it's with the opposite gender. hyoseop’s dad is often not home, and he’s let hyoseop know he’s free to use his house for whatever, he’s probably got parties in his mind, but hyoseop has no interest in hosting a party. he doesn’t mind bringing friends over, having some privacy and maybe a drink or two together, of course, today, it’s been way more than a drink or two, at least for hyoseop.

he sits with bitna, the two drinking together, he takes a sip and continues his staring at the other. he can’t quite stop staring at the other, and in his mind he questions if bitna has always been this pretty, perhaps he’s first noticed it now? he pouts before he opens his mouth to ask a question “do you know how pretty you are?” he asks, the question leaving his mouth before he’s had the time to think about what he asked.

dohyun had only been planning on having a quick lunch, all things considered. though it was a sunday and there was no practices that day, he was still planning to make the most of the day off and get in some individual practice. if he wanted to actually stay at this company (which he rather did), then he had to prove he was talented. prove he was more than average and different from his family. the world should just stop comparing him to his siblings or his parents. he was his own person and he was talented in his own right - he was sure of it.

lunch had started off well, he’d grabbed a sandwich and a bag of chips from the cafeteria, sat down to start eating, and then his phone had buzzed. a message from his mother telling him that his sister had just landed another main role on the big screen. his mother also didn’t forget to mention how it was such a shame that he would never be like his siblings.

well, that certainly didn’t help with the self-doubts he had been having. he didn’t know how to respond to the text so had sort of just... had a mental error. his eyes were fixed on nothing in particular, head bowed as he just sat motionless staring at his half-opened sandwich on the table in front of him, all sorts of thoughts rushing through his head. ever single time he wanted to think differently there was always someone to knock him back down again and remind him that he was nothing but average. nothing special.
